Very confident that if the manager realises the way he's getting the squad to play (or if/when he's sacked and replaced by someone else that will) that we will shoot up the league. The squad doesn't compare with the rest of the division. Martin is clearly a manager with one major flaw, he's wedded to an ideology that relies on your players being consistently exceptional. The goal we scored the other day proves that it can work and it can be devastating. But it relied on the entire squad moving the ball quickly and to the right man. That's why it's so inconsistent. I'd urge Martin to stop playing in a style that's so reliant on the players being exceptional all of the time and appreciate that they only need to be half-decent to win this division. The standard is woeful. Thanks for thinking of me on your Sunday evening though.

There was a moment in the 2nd half where the Barnsley left back got his body positioning on and faced Burns straight on. Burns kicked it past him to run onto it yet the left back was able to turn from a standing start and still beat him to the ball. Incredible how slow he is. Almost like signing a 30+ year old winger that relies on pace after he’s just had an ACL injury was a woeful idea.

But the point of signing him is that he might be needed. Like saying it's pointless to insure your phone for damage. Easy to say it's needless until you drop it and it's smashed up.

Stolarcyck's injury is a clear as day example of why this sort of signing is needed. All it takes is another oaf barging into McCarthy and we're down to one senior keeper with us needing to keep French and Bausor around every Saturday and Tuesday. Rather spend £50k to ensure they can keep playing youth football.

It's more that we need 3 keepers and this lad will probably be on a near minimal wage. Does it make it signing of the summer? Obviously not, but we do still need him.

Because to get an emergency loan goalkeeper every senior keeper needs to be unavailable and the rules are very strict on that. So if we got an emergency loan we'd be playing without goalkeepers on the bench etc.

Sort of signing that will piss people off but ultimately we do need 3 goalkeepers and there's no point in having Harry French or Stevie Bausor sat in the stands every saturday. Fairly sure we'll never see him play and I suspect we may not even see him on the bench. But better to be safe than sorry.

Yep I was a bit worried he'd sulk and force a move to Man United but he seems to have a good head on his shoulders and a good family around him. Would have been very easy for him to sulk and strop. He knows he's a talented lad and has that confidence about him. Also he's really bulked up over the summer and looks ready for 46 games of mens football this season and I don't think you could have said that about him last season. He'll go next summer but he seems determined to make sure he goes about things the right way.
