I thought it was always that we had to sell players to make money. Otherwise we'd have just deregistered a couple of Smithies/Ward/Iverson.
-
Shame we've only managed to move on who I'd imagine were our three lowest earners.

Do we know if KDH is actually injured yet? I know he's not trained last week but still.
-
Just looked and Chelsea don't have a Premier League game this weekend and their next game is against Middlesbrough in the League Cup (he's cup tied) and their game after that is against Villa in the FA Cup (he's also cup tied). Their next game that he could play in isn't until 31st Jan against Liverpool. Surely we should be asking if we can keep him for the Ipswich game.
-
This is a bit of a nightmare for the Ipswich game if KDH actually is injured. Think we'll have to play the biggest game of the season with a side like this; Hermansen Faes Vestergaard Justin Hamza Winks McAteer Ricardo Akgun Mavididi Cannon

I've got to be honest, I do think that team would struggle. That midfield 3 will get ripped apart by most competent midfields. I think we need more mobility and physicality. If we go up I think we need to make three (potentially four) key signings. I think it's imperative that we sign a very good number 8 and a very good CB for the middle of the back 3. I then also think we need to sign a number 9 that is a proven goal scorer. I also think that if funds allow then we should be signing a better left back/left of the back 3.

Would you support a "Super League"?

Yeah but it's not that much of a disparity between the Premier League and the Champions League now. When we won the league we got £93m, we got £106m last season for being relegated. Real Madrid got £54m in 2016 for winning the UCL. Man City got £73m for winning it last season (prize money). The financial disparity comes from the fans of these clubs and the way they're marketed and sold to the world (coupled with the financial doping of Man City and Chelsea to be able to compete with United, Liverpool and Arsenal). In February last year Liverpool announced a revenue of nearly £600m yet the absolute maximum they could get in prize money/tv money etc would be about a third of that. It's impossible for a club outside of the "big six" (i'd even struggle to include Spurs in that) to compete with that sort of revenue. It's not something you can get to with natural growth. You either need "do a Leicester" but sustain it for a good 5-10 years or get yourselves owned by some trillionaire sheikhs (and i'd argue with the new rules, it's even more impossible to get yourself to that level with sheer spending). -
Unavailable, unfortunately.

I'd be very surprised if it's not a four of Mavididi - Casadei - Akgun - McAteer

Champions League money isn't that big. I'm pretty certain that the Champions League winner would get about a half of what 20th in the Premier League would get. -

The Premier League is evenly split in terms of funding and yet the top clubs always do better than the rest. It's because they've got the biggest pull to sign the best players and have the biggest fan bases to bring in more money than the rest. Whatever you think of how that is, it's not going to change. Those sides will always attract the best players. When was the last time the really massive clubs didn't qualify for the Champions League (Outside of England where we have 6 to fill 4/5 spaces)? I don't think I'm any more anti-UEFA than your normal football fan. It's pretty clear to see they don't value the game, the supporters, football clubs or even their own integrity over money and power. I'm suggesting that the only way I would support a "Super League" is if it were run like the Premier League which includes fair voting and doesn't give unnecessary power to a small handful of clubs. -

But it's only being called that because of the 2021 failed attempt. It's all that people have to go against. I'd be surprised if any attempt to create a new version of it kept that name because it immediately gets peoples backs up. -

You only think that because of the name and the 2021 concept that was unanimously hated. There's plenty of room for a revised European competition that takes power away from UEFA and gives it to the clubs themselves. -

I don't think it makes it pointless. There's a massive gap between what we see with UEFA and what we saw with the 2021 Super League concept. I think there's room for a European competition that is run, broadcast, advertised and funded in the same way the Premier League is. If they set it up right there's no chance the 2021 Super League founders get relegated in the same way the big six are never even close to getting relegated from the Premier League. -
But if it's the case of nobody knowing (I can't remember how it played out last year when that girl rejected the traitors), what's the point in keeping that person?

Yes. I'm all for the downfall of UEFA. 1. As long as we're talking about a replacement for the Champions League. 2. As long as there is equal/fair money distribution. 3. As long as it's possible for everyone involved to be relegated. 4. As long as it's possible for any team to play in it. 5. As long as it doesn't affect the Premier League. If those points are met then my only real argument against it is that we'd be losing the history of the Champions League/European Cup. -
I feel like if the finances are that ****ed that we can't afford €2m then we shouldn't be spending it on someone with such a poor injury record and on such good wages. If (when) we get promoted then we should revisit in the summer.
-
I don't know why you'd decline. Once you decline and everyone knows you declined then everyone knows you're a faithful so you're just 100% booked in to be the next murder. No point in keeping someone that'll never get banished.

How good is Harry Winks. What s man. Cannot wait to see him lift the trophy. -
Mad that Fatawu was sent off and their lad wasn't hahah

I'm sorry mate I think I misread your post. After I saw you rep a post about removing the banners being a waste of police time I jumped to conclusions. I apologise.
-
Not condemning the banners would only lead to the line being pushed further back until some over confident Cov fan gets put in hospital. It's clearly unacceptable to put banners up about the helicopter accident. Why do you have a hard time accepting that?
-
I'd imagine that any Cov fan within reaching distance of a Leicester fan making references to helicopters would get his head caved in. Not sure why you're so keen to pretend that this is acceptable behaviour?
