I got blown off course today by the wind! T'was blowing an absolute hoolie in Lincolnshire. At 6'1" and 13 stone, that doesn't happen easily. How windy ?? The old folk around me were genuinely fearful of a trip to A+E. Mad.

That's such a lovely story. Good for you. My dad died about 5 years ago. He was a carpenter by trade and very skilled with his hands. He made walking sticks as a hobby (carved heads from ram horns etc) and did one for an artist, locally ...... who paid him with a similar painting of a meaningful location for my dad. Of the very few possessions my dad had, it was the only one that my sisters and I were so keen to ensure stayed firmly in the family. I don't know if you have kids or not, but I hope you've shared that lovely story with them so that one day, (long, long into the future), it can also stay in your family as a something meaningful. It will probably make them smile and feel proud of their old fella in the way that ours does for me. Good for you.

One of the weirder days in my world. Discovered dating sites a few years back, post divorce. Had a date tonight. Been there 20 minutes when my last partner, (of the dating site variety, not the ex-wife variety), decided to drop in and join us !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Apparently, didn't take rejection well so went through my phone and spoke to the lass from tonight, (yes I know - there shouldn't have been an overlap), before I got there as a set-up !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was right up there with minor operations as an event to remember.

My day is now totally, squirmingly awful. Just went for a haircut. Came out and 'phone rang. Client in Brighton saying the dreaded "where are you ?" thing. Only second time ever in my life I've just 'forgotten' a meeting. And a big one, too. Can't stop squirming. Room full of people waiting, lunch laid on, presentation area ready ..... just missing a speaker ! Can someone please make the guilt go away for me ?
