The whole game is screwed - the best you can hope for now is to be the Leicester of 3-4 seasons ago, or a Villa, or a Forest this season. Maybe a jaunt in Europe and a couple of good seasons before you run out of steam, or the big boys pick you clean, or the powers that be decide you've stretched yourself too far. Ironically the Premier League is what everyone aims for, but most teams have a miserable time of it in this league. Imagine being an Everton fan, watching your team circle the drain every season, never achieving anything. Or even the likes of Spurs, kind of thereabouts every now and then, and no silverware to show for it. Both of those two would class their recent seasons as more successful than ours, but we've got an FA Cup to show for it at all at least.

Tbf, if you walk out of your only two jobs as a manager after falling out with the board twice, you can pretty much guarantee you're not getting a job anywhere else, so I wouldn't be surprised if he stays

I think you're worrying about nothing tbh. They're not shouting complex instructions to eachother, all they basically need to be able to say is the other player's name and a probably a couple of very simple instructions, that's it. They should know their roles before they step on the pitch.

I generally think the performances are good, and it's just the overall lack of quality - particularly defensively - that's letting us down. The players aren't good enough, or they're on the injury table. What can the manager realistically do?

Looking forward to moving back in the next few months after about 14 years away. A combo of family circumstances and being able to WFH a lot of the time. All he's done is stolen/bought/profited from the work of more intelligent people, I think this idea that he's some madcap genius is just very good PR and the scales are falling from people's eyes now. I agree with everything else you say though - I would be 100% finished with this club if someone like Musk took over.
