  1. What should they come out publicly and say then? Because I don't think there's anything they could say that would a) appease the fans and b) improve our situation whatsoever
  2. We could go down with the lowest points total in league history and it would be put down to pts deduction and a 'tough financial climate', nothing will change. Rudkin will still be here in 10 years.
  3. Genuinely, what do you want them to come out and say? We're in the shit, we've got no money - we've tried to sign players but no-one wants to come? Reckon that will make recruitment easier? Reckon it makes shifting on players easier if buying/loaning clubs think we're desperate?
  4. No club would ever come out and go 'we're skint and we're not buying any players' - don't get me wrong, the board are a joke, but they're not going to tell us anything and nor should they.
  5. I'd take Chalobah, Chukwuemeka, Madueke, Fofana and Broja. Will be silly money and wages, so doubt we get any of them tbh. Weren't we supposed to be super interested in Madueke a few years back?
  6. The thing is now, you just know there's no plan and they're all running around like headless chickens wondering what the **** to do
  7. This 100% feels like we've been used to drum up interest from elsewhere, same with Soule. What the **** has happened to the recruitment team over the last 12 months? Last summer's window was great, and exactly fit the mould of what we should be looking to do - good young players, with potential and resale value, that most of us have never heard of - Hermansen, Fatawu, Mavididi, Akgun - mixed with a bit of experience - Coady, Winks. It all seems massively scattergun this season.
  8. The temptation is strong 😂
  9. We're getting pumped aren't we? I've put Solanke, Son and Porro in my FPL team to soften the blow.
  10. Bill Shankly was so impressed by Gillies' side that he modelled his entire tactical ethos at Liverpool on the way we played.
  11. I dunno, the amount of absolute freaks on Twitter commenting on the post going 'wtf are the ice kings' is shocking. I'm in my 30s and I know about them, no excuse for the younger fanbase.
  12. Well, we've got Buonanotte. But yeah, could use some reinforcements there. More than anything we need a striker who can put chances away.
  13. Stick him on the bench, bring him on second half. All he really needs is a sense of positioning, it's not rocket science. People worry too much about coaching these days, if players are good enough they can generally play in most systems pretty easily. I don't think Coop is running with the same level of tactical complexity as Maresca either.
  14. Negotiations if they were conducted by the Foxes Talk experts: Zaha's Agent: So you're interested in signing Wilf, that's great - what is yo- Rudkin: "HOLD ON, SHUT UP, WHAT IS WILF'S PERSONAL TAX SITUATION?"
  15. If he were to sign today, he'd be registered and on the bench surely? Not beyond the realms of possibility tbh.
  16. Love how everyone here is a tax expert all of a sudden and can't believe that a player's personal tax situation wasn't the first thing on our mind. Some people just want to get mad about anything.
  17. Tbh I just think it's trying to placate the fans and give them something to get excited about. 'No new signings and we're getting battered every game in pre-season, but look at this shiny new youth player!'
  18. Exactly, they've reached the pinnacle of what they could possibly achieve with the club. Should have sold up after the FA Cup win. I often wonder what it is they (or anyone for that matter) gets out of running a football club, because it's certainly not money..
  19. Quite simply the best owners we've ever had, and currently destroying that legacy.
  20. ****s sake, just developing Galatasaray's players for them now are we? How far have we fallen.
  21. Why is it so black and white with people on here? We need bodies in the squad, we need options - it's a long, long season. Alves has played about 30 mins of senior football - ever! Is it fair on him to just throw him into top flight football, ahead of one of the club's most challenging seasons in recent years, with no other real options in his position, and go 'here you go mate, crack on'? The most likely scenario seems to be one where Buonanotte comes in, and Alves is used in rotation with him over the course of the season - why does Buonanotte coming in mean Alves' development is halted, or that we suddenly think he'll never be good enough for senior football? It's mad. If anything, Alves should be encouraged that this is a loan and not a permanent signing - it gives him space to develop this season, and if he takes it - there's a role open and waiting for him at the end of the season. Cole Palmer is an absolute phenom - he played almost 20 games for Man City before moving to Chelsea and did nothing - even when he went to Chelsea it took him 4-5 games to get up to speed - and this is likely a player with a much higher ceiling than Alves. Can we afford to gives Will Alves that kind of time, with no other options in that position in the squad?
  22. Again, if he helps us stay up - our SOLE objective this season - then it will be job done and thanks very much.
  23. Right now we are simply trying to stay in this league, on the back of financial mismanagement and an incoming points deduction. If we stay up and he helps us to do that, it's a great deal. 'Developing another club's player' is such a weird way of looking at it - we have an objective this season and we need to meet it, and we need to do it in a way that makes sense financially.
  24. This is SUCH a good signing, people in here need their heads checked.
