4 goals in 10 starts for Burnley is decent? They had to play United, Arsenal, Liverpool and Man City during that run too. Cannon's got a bit of a talent for sure, but he could barely get a look in while we were in the Championship.
-
Does everyone really think this guy will be pony? I reckon he'll be decent.
-
He was a great prospect before he went to Chelsea - plenty of players look shit when they go there - I would be well up for this.
-
The only problem being that it's all completely unverifiable - mainstream media, for all it's faults, generally only publishes things that are verified fact. There's plenty of information out there on social, how much truth? If you believed social media last week, the Southport attacker was a boat migrant. That's my big issue with it. Musk has made Twitter (not calling it X) ten times worse by removing verification, and letting anyone pay for a blue tick - if you've got enough followers and a tick, you can really cause trouble.

Absolutely awful. Dreadful, dreadful news.
-
Academy left backs are always twats unfortunately - Mattock, Chilwell, Bassey, Thomas. It's a cursed position for us.
-
It's times like this that it really shows how much social media has ruined transfer windows. Back in the day you'd get maybe one or two lines in a newspaper, maybe once a week. Even a few years back you might get BBC sport reporting rumours on their website. Now you've got every virgin with a Twitter account lining up to bring you round the clock bullshit in the hopes of building their weird ITK profile. So depressing.

With all that in mind, it's a big yes from me

I mean there's wanting to cash in, and then there's accepting around 40% lower than your stated asking price. If they're doing it to fund player purchases, how does it benefit them to accept less than they actually need??
-
I don't believe half the stuff that's been written about this lad so far, it's gone from 'he's open to the move and he's agreed terms' to 'he only wants Roma' for apparently no reason. If Roma don't stump up, but we do, and he has the choice of playing in the PL for Leicester, or for Juve's reserves, then it'll be interesting to see what he picks. But there's no way Juve are accepting £20-£25m when they're asking for £30-£35m, even if the player is crazy keen on playing for Roma.
-
Maybe NOT sell him for 40% below what they want? Jeez.
-
Hang on, we're supposed to think that Juve will sell 10m under their valuation because the player would prefer to go to Roma?
-
That brace honestly, still gives me a semi.
-
If this is a rustle, it's impressive.
-
Presume we're signing him to play #10? If we're spending this kind of money on a winger, on top of Fatawu, it's ludicrous.
-
Has it actually been leaked or whatever yet?
-
I have no idea why he was such a **** after leaving, I think he had a pretty good relationship with the fans - all that stuff about being desperate to beat us was so bizarre.
-
Wow they look super cool - thanks for all your hard work Mark.
-
Get rid of him

It's the job Potter's been waiting for

Artificial, yes - intelligence? Not so sure.

My main issue, yet again, is the frankly embarrassingly amateur way our board has overseen this whole saga. - They start off with aggy remarks about Maresca as he left, ok fine - it's annoying, but be professional ffs. - They talk to Cooper early on, it's clear he wants it - a fair few sources confirmed that we were in talks a few weeks ago. - They then spend about 2 weeks seemingly going 'ok, well Cooper's a good backup option, now let's see who else there is' - They publicly court Potter and get made to look like fools yet again. - They then try and backtrack and claim that Cooper was 'always the standout candidate for the role' (well why spend weeks talking to other people if you were always going to give it to Cooper?) - do they genuinely take the fans for idiots? - The whole thing ends with the fanbase mystified and disillusioned as to what's going on, Cooper comes in knowing that despite what the board says, they clearly would have gone with Potter if they could have gotten him - which must really make him feel wanted and valued - and the whole thing has become a circus. NONE OF THIS NEEDED TO HAPPEN. Absolute amateurs - it's an embarrassingly shit way to conduct any kind of business, not just running a football club.
-
Well it's not exactly box office, but box office is arguably not what we need this season. I think the people on here making out he's some kind of route one, ultra defensive footballing dinosaur are being ridiculous though, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by how we set up. When I look at some of the alternatives who are out there - Parker, Lampard, OGS - it could have been a LOT worse. I'll give him a fair crack of the whip - supporters seem to take to him wherever he goes, so let's hope that continues here.
