Brighton have often been praised on here for planning ahead and knowing who will come in next. But they haven't got a manager appointed yet. Even though there have been rumours for weeks. It doesn't always happen fast, in fact it rarely does whatever the club especially in the closed season.

I think there is a degree to which Potter's Chelsea experiance could work in our favor. THough his stock remained high, there is still a sense in which he comes into this with something to prove. But perhaps more importantly, I think he is less likely to jump ship to the next big club that comes knocking if he is successful. I think he will be a bit more hesitant given the way things worked out when he left Brighton for Chelsea.

We may have some interest in a longer contract so that if he does well and a big club comes in (a la Meresca), we can get decent compensation. ...we're all just guessing I suppose!

That would be something! I think all the pressure will be on Southampton and Leeds and they are proving unable to handle that. The other two teams will be able to approach the games with less pressure and, I suspect, more momentum.

I honestly think that neither Leeds or Southampton will be successful in the Play-offs. I would still fancy Ipswich. But I think Leeds and Southampton will blow the playoffs, they will both be under huge pressure compared to the other teams. Neither seem to handle pressure well.
