They contacted him about the managerial role, he wasn’t interested but they ended up inviting him to a match.
-
Sir Alex Ferguson didn’t do too badly!
-
He made a very strong start at Aberdeen and went on to win the Scottish Cup - but results tailed off this season.
-
Phew! I thought you were going to say months.
-
Not as a coach or manager!
-
He’s got a decent Championship record and has just kept a team up against the odds so it’s hardly dogshit. It may look cheap but probably the best we can attract. I don’t think he is the long term solution but should be given a chance.

Realistic Managerial Replacements

Percy ‘ Leicester City Football Club are set to …. ….get the interview process underway within the next three weeks. The club are looking to find a replacement for Marti Cifuentes before the end of April.’ -

You should add an A to the first word of this thread title. -
LCFC 3-4 Southampton, post-match thread
David Lowe replied to Phil Mitchell's topic in Leicester City Forum
It can’t help that the new management team were not in place when we returned to training last summer. How they were not appointed until the middle of July is beyond me. Now we’re dithering again. -
LCFC 3-4 Southampton, post-match thread
David Lowe replied to Phil Mitchell's topic in Leicester City Forum
It’s hardly surprising, he hasn’t got any managerial experience. To mess around for over 2 weeks and leave him to manage 3 matches whilst we are in this desperate position is unforgivable. -
Yes this is correct. The other two rearranged Championship matches on this evening had originally been moved to Saturday 12.30 for TV so are being shown.

Premier League 2025/26 Thread

Exactly. You can’t just award a goal which will change the goal difference or not send somebody off which will affect Liverpool’s next few matches just for entertainment purposes. -
Realistic Managerial Replacements

And the betting is static - suggests there haven’t been any approaches/interviews yet because normally people get wind of it. -
Surely no chance that would have been picked for the Friday night match anyway.
-
I guess it will be next season but really depends on what sort of manager we bring in.
-
Sky are showing various rearranged matches on Tuesday but our match not listed?

Realistic Managerial Replacements
David Lowe replied to winteriscoming's topic in Leicester City Forum
Surely it’s got to be somebody who might be able to sort the defence out because you can’t win many matches conceding goals like this. MON is not playing exciting or flowing football at Celtic but has gone in and tightened them up, that’s what we need for now. -
But getting rid of the owners and removing all of the key decision makers during a season doesn’t make any sense.
-
Sacking the whole board doesn’t make any sense. Surely any protests have got to be aimed at people who are thought to be doing a bad job ie RVN if it’s thought to be a football issue, Rudkin if it’s thought to be a contracts/wages issue, Glover if it’s thought to be a scouting issue.

I see that all EFL televised games have been sorted for the first half of the season. At least this gives supporters more notice.

Leicester 'could face points deduction next season'
David Lowe replied to ClaphamFox's topic in Leicester City Forum
Yes we had our big success of winning the league when the wage bill wasn’t so high - but we were suddenly in the Champions League so the wage bill couldn’t stay at that level. -
Leicester 'could face points deduction next season'
David Lowe replied to ClaphamFox's topic in Leicester City Forum
Yes the wage bill has been the problem but it was also the key to doing so well in the first place. You can either gamble with a high wage bill, do well on the field but then suffer when it goes wrong on the field and you are left with players on big wages - or you can never gamble at all. -
Leicester 'could face points deduction next season'
David Lowe replied to ClaphamFox's topic in Leicester City Forum
Looks like we will ‘do a Sheffield Utd’ by having to sell players and go into the season with a weaker squad. The only way ahead looks to be to find some ‘hidden gems’ or buy cheaper young players who may give us a brighter future. -
Leicester 'could face points deduction next season'
David Lowe replied to ClaphamFox's topic in Leicester City Forum
This doesn’t make sense. Why would you expect to finish in the top 4 with the 8th highest wage bill? The football side of the club was exceeding expectations at that point. -
Ticket office? Never heard of one.
