  1. There is a 10 point gap between Forest and Brentford so it looks like the promoted teams may be relying on Forest being poor again or other teams having managerial upheaval.
  2. That’s because all of their strikers were injured/suspended.
  3. Stringer started in League 1 and finished at the top. Owynn started at the top and is going to finish in League 1.
  4. I love the optimism of people thinking we will drop into third. If Southampton do well with their games in hand and beat us (which looks likely) we will probably have to settle for fourth.
  5. It seems to be a case of keep picking the same lot until they actually do something.
  6. I knew Millwall would be difficult - they have been hard to beat since the manager returned. Plymouth have been poor for a long while now and anything other than a win is unacceptable in this one.
  7. Whelan admitting that they budgeted to keep finishing in the top half - but there have never been any clubs of our size who have consistently finished in the top half.
  8. I might have more confidence in him if his interviews suggested he could find solutions but every answer is ‘that’s football’ or ‘it is what it is’.
  9. I do think though that the 3 clubs mentioned were in a much better state when promoted having built up good teams over a few years. Forest’s promotion was a bit out of the blue and was based on a lot of loan players.
  10. I disagree because every case is different so it can’t be as black and white as that. Not all charges are just to do with losses. All cases can be appealed and taken to the independent committee if it is thought a deduction is wrong.
  11. Millwall are playing well!
  12. Why do people keep asking where the Man City and Chelsea deductions are? Their cases are still being investigated just as ours is.
  13. So going up and receiving a deduction then being relegated seems the most likely course of events. Is it then better to come down with another deduction but a team who can compete at the top end of the Championship or to ensure there is no second deduction but have a much weaker team left?
  14. But all clubs make bad signings - the likes of Man Utd and Arsenal can get away with big money flops.
  15. It’s a difficult situation for clubs of our size. Try to challenge at the top of the PL and in Europe and you end up with wages that are impossible to cope with when you start to drop down. Stay in the Championship for too long and you may never get back. The best solution financially seems to be to finish mid table in the PL every year but would you swap our amazing rollercoaster ride for being Crystal Palace?
  16. There will not be a deduction this season but I disagree anyway. It gets very difficult if you stay down for too long which could happen if we went into the play-offs.
  17. If we go up there’s a strong chance of coming back anyway so something like a 6 point deduction will hasten our return but I can’t see it being a disaster. There will be a problem if we don’t go up.
  18. I can’t understand the argument for the second charge that they have already been punished for 2 years of it. It is based on 3 year cycles, in the fourth year they offended again.
  19. I feel that there are some incidents when the on field decision should be ignored. The decision on the ball going out has got to be guesswork at full speed. VAR can look at a freeze frame. In cricket they got rid of the ‘soft signal’ because third umpire decisions were being based on guesswork from the umpires.
  20. Sky already have a Friday match and can’t see anything being moved to Sunday so maybe Leeds will be Sat 12.30.
