PNE probably will fall off, but it’s not wise to dismiss a team exceeding expectations - we should know that more than most. They’ve been around the Championship for sometime and have built a team for it. Doing really well and getting some luck too, as are we. All power to them. Makes things more interesting frankly.

Pretty much all of the above, but he’s also clearly got fire in him. Pushed a couple of Narch players out of the way. Wasn’t afraid to put the boot in. Nice to see that he has that in him. Although there were some seriously weird yellow cards.

Amazing on a footie forum that so many people clearly do not know the offside rule. If the ball is pulled BACK to a player it cannot be offside. There can be no interference in play. VAR would not have ruled it off because it wasn’t. For me, this move gave me my first real feeling that Enzo is getting our squad into an unbelievable frame of mind. It’s like prime Barcelona - at a lower level obviously - insomuch as KDH could have scored, but he made absolutely sure that we did score by passing to Kasey. There will be mistakes and errors playing like this, but it’s pretty awesome to watch at times.

Rode our luck a bit. Played some good football at times. 2nd goal was immense. Few good performances. A few mediocre. On the whole though, to make that many changes and come away with the win is making quite the statement. Well played. I’m enjoying this.

Fired too heavy a load

As I’ve stated in my previous staunch defence of Wilf, there have been many and varied mitigating circumstances which simply culminated in a complete loss of both confidence and fitness. Some of those things are well known, some less so. He is an incredible player and if Enzo can ease him back to where he was, then it will be immense. You don’t go from effective superstar to shite without reason, and that player is still in there.

Usually one of the relegated teams has a bit of a free fall. Could be Southampton this season. Leaking as fast as the Titanic.

Vesty has been solid all season so far. We know he’s slow, but his performances have been decent. Thought he was very good yesterday. Glad we’re finally getting something from him and I’m not getting on the bandwagon of slating him just because.

It also helps that Southampton tried to play against us. Other teams have pretty much sat back and defended. That will happen all season. Very few teams will try to have a go.

Well there is now a Martin out thread on the Saints forum - just saying.

There were some dodgy moments first half. Some indecision and some sloppy passing. However, there were so many positives across the full game. Some very very good phases. Some glimmers of what might be to come. Frankly, at this level, our bench was astonishing.

My point entirely. Don’t think KDH has been even passingly good so far this season. People have raved about Doyle, but again I think he’s been average at best. we’ve been lucky and we need to start being actually good. We’ve got the players.
