I’m going to have to say, that on the evidence so far, I’m happy with the Enzoball we are playing. Gradual improvements game by game. Rode our luck early on. I’ll take it.
-
So nobody really has a clue who will play. I’m expecting a good few changes. I believe in Enzo and think we win this game too. Will be an epic win at this stage. We just seem too good - but things can happen for sure.
-
No. Some people were ready to accept pretty much anything to be rid of him. Go back and look. Mind you it depends what you consider a large fee. And yes, they were myopic. Looking like we might head straight back up may bring new contracts. May not. The £10/£15 million we might possibly have got would never have got us a player anywhere near what we have now.
-
Don’t think you can say he was finished as a defensive player at all. His confidence was shot. His fitness poor and encouragement from his manger non existent under Brendan. All those things have changed. He is getting back to the awesome player he was, albeit in a new position. People can split hairs all they like but those who wanted him out were myopic muppets - simple as.
-
Wilf is doing what I expected and said he would do pre season when people were skating him and saying we should get rid. Admittedly he’s doing it in a different way to the one I expected. However, I said he was still they player we knew, he had just lost form and belief in himself, coupled with some personal issues which would have crippled most. Enzo’s belief in and handling of Wilf shows me that the guy is a top manager with incredible man management skills. Credit to them both. Long may it continue.

I said they need to learn when and when not. Stop being pedantic. The passing under pressure has happened in a number of games. Close control and slick passing then opens up the opposition. Sometimes it isn’t wise. THAT is a learning process. Anyway, you’d have to say it’s going ok.
-
Like I said, I understand the frustration, but we are learning every game. And yes, it is the process. That process also involves learning when and when not to play so intricately. Patience Anakin.
-
It does appear that way. I mean the frustration with the intricate passing and the odd mistake is understandable, but you have to see the bigger picture.
-
Like the guy. Busy. Makes telling passes. Closes down. Isn’t afraid to put his foot in. Think he will be class for us. Early days.
-
People still questioning the intricate passing at the back. Have they not noticed that it draws the opposition in, this stretching their lines and making it easier for us to break through? Sure there will be mistakes, like today, but those will be far outweighed by the chances playing like this provides.

Love a proper FT match day thread. We’re DOOMED. 👍
-
Glad someone is.

We are better than we were last season by a mile. Confidence and belief in the system seem to be high. I think we win this game 2 or 3 nil.

I’d piss the IT support Team Leader role with my experience - however, the commute from Wales might be a bit testing. The salary is likely to be dog muck. Plus I can’t really be arsed. Ahh well, 10 years ago and I’d have been all over it 🤣

He clearly has ability. He’s clearly nowhere near the finished article. So far pave seems lightly better than Tieleman’s, but as the big T was about as fast as roadkill that’s not a compliment. I think he will grow in to things.
-
It’s ok. They’re clearly too stupid to realise that Tory and Labour are just two sides of the same shite coin. Morons.
-
I’m finding some of the comments on here generally amusing. Can only put it down to heavy drinking or dribbling insanity. Did people really think we could win this, beyond luck and a fighting chance? OMG folks. Calm down, calm down. 🤣
-
Couple of worldie goals. Some bad luck. Some shite reffing. Don’t think it’s too bad to be fair. Nothing to be ashamed of.
-
Good Liverpool side to be fair.
-
Will have to be on it. The press might present us with gaps to exploit. Likely a 3-0 thumping but you never know. We either pull off a miracle or we get to concentrate a little more on the league.
-
I can smell the oestrogen from here mate. You’re just covering your heartbreak.

Agree with this totally. The 14 agreed because they considered the crumbs worthwhile. It’s a trough for the elite pigs. Our snouts may well be back in it soon. However that doesn’t mean that it isn’t something which should be addressed. It will hit a crisis point sooner rather than later.

He’s right. The money is out of control. It is strangling football. I’d be in favour of all teams receiving exactly the same money. Sure the Premier League would cry like babies and the big 6 might well do one. But football has become a commodity and as in real life the rich are just getting richer.
-
Bizarrely the atmosphere is likely to drop in relation to our success. Little jeopardy. People just turning up to watch us win. Poor really but psychologically it’s a thing.

We seem much fitter this season which is a bit ongoing a sad reflection on Rodgers. The rotation helps of course, but individually we seem far better. It will be an interesting match I think. I don’t anticipate a full strength Liverpool. I still think they will be strong enough and they will come at us, which may play into our hands.
