Col u r right we dont have time to sort this out.... but we have no way of doing so until we buy in jan. Meantime we need a safer formation. Webbo .... the reailty is that we will have to continue to play amarty and like u, i really want to see him grow into a great cm. If he does that will be great. We are in a bind but we have no cards to play.

WE have just lost one of the best box to box midfielders in the world and we have replaced him with a 21 year old with a hand ful of games in the prem. I agree Amarty may well develop into a good defensive midfielder... but he shouldn't be the butt of our frustration. I guess we need to understand that with the available players we have then 442 is too tough for us - we are just not meeting the challenges in mid field and hence the consequences. I believe we must persist with amarty (who else do we have at the moment?) but we should change our system to play five in middle (either one holding.... then three.... and then okizaki; or maybe two and three like Man u did against us). WE should recognize that we need to reorganize - as we do not have the personnel to make 442 work. WE beak up omore play with Okizaki on the pitch. While I like hernandez,... last season, Simpson made a lot of saving tackles when huth and wes were exposed. Besides reorganizing mid filed, including shinji and simpson we must also sort the corners out! If we do these things we will improve... maybe not to where we want to be.... but we can only fix the things that we are able to fix... we haven't ' got a new kante. If we are doing the right things then I won't moan

Shingi challenges and reduces the quality of the balls in to mid field thereby helping us break up their flow He is a must away from home Having looked at how utd played i am thinking we must give up 442 and go 433... leaving the two faster wide fowards to drop into midfield when we defend... and enablibg the two wider midfielders to defend agaibst their wingers thereby allowing the back four to avoid being stretched.

It is way too early to critisize amarty. Although he's been on our books for a year this is his first run in our team.... and his first experience of pl football. To make this change he needs to adjust and as he nakes errors he can be coached to correct them. He is strong and brings height. .. i suspect he can become a great midfielder... so give him time.. and give ranieri time to orchestrate this change. I would love it to be instantaneous... but we'll just have to be patient

The problem on the horizon is that Gray needs to develop more options - when we are cautious he controls the ball and plays it back. On other days he cuts in from the left and is capable of scoring great goals (like today and also the one against us pre-last season)... he needs to look at other wide plays and learn their tricks... or he will be sussed too easily . He can be a great player - he did well today :-)
