  1. Soft spot for Chyaaalay as my wife's fried used to be their stadium announcer. Ticked off Notts County and Chesterfield as an away fan with them but never made it to a home game. Must change that sometime.
  2. Hope all aboard are enjoying themselves.
  3. Bad enough that everyone who posts that kind of question in this thread decides to join forces and do something about it.
  4. You surely can't be surprised by now that people who still voluntarily stay away from the one area of the ground where they know for sure there's a group of lads going for it all game are moaning about how poor the atmosphere was?
  5. Fvcking mental the way modern English fans act like this stuff is OK if it keeps us going on the pitch. This football club is part of all of our souls too lads. Back this bollocks and you're selling yours too.
  6. That's going to be horrendous. I don't subscribe to either, but anyone who gets Sky or TNT for their cricket coverage should be asking serious questions about the value they're getting these days.
  7. Record crowd. Great stuff.

Well, of course you can imagine it. But seeing it up close does give you extra understanding on whatever you understood about The Troubles before. I've never been to Auschwitz, but I can imagine it's a similar feeling.
  9. Realistically about as good a performance as you could expect in the circumstances. If countries like India (and us) want more competitive Test cricket on their home turf then they need to make sure their opponents get fairer finding.

Hundred per cent. Duke of York a great boozer too. I'd defy you to actually go on one and still hold the same opinion afterwards. The tour I linked to was brilliant in terms of helping outsiders to see the human impact in both communities, plus focus on some of the more positive art coming from both sides of the wall. They give a decent living to plenty of working-class blokes who can give you a first-hand account of the history they're telling. Did this as a present for my missus a few years ago and it was great. Took in the Giant's Causeway too. Can't wait to get back and explore more of the countryside someday.

Do a mural taxi tour with this guy. He's great: https://www.xplorebelfastmurals.com/ Brilliant city and the Antrim coast road up to the Giant's Causeway is stunning.
  12. He'll be quids in when some dippy tabloid intern splashes his face all over the internet by mistake.
  13. Burn Burn.
  14. Been thinking about the best foreign airport for a pint. Remember enjoying Funchal.
  15. No given. Scotland were awful when I went in the Euros.
  16. Langton have always been pretty good for LE16 themed beers. Inclined Plane, Caudle etc.
  17. Not sure I can count it but stopped in on a youth team game at UE Alcúdia (Mallorca) earlier. Looked a nice little club that makes clear it's tourist-friendly. Five minutes from the Foxes Arms too.
  18. My wife and I have been playing "guess the nationality" in our Mallorca hotel at mealtimes. Any German couple over 50 are instant spots due to the woman's haircut. My ability to identify football shirts from range has given me an advantage. Anyway, it's struck me that France is a balder nation than people give it credit for.
  19. Shame. They did a lap for the One Day Cup and that was brilliant.
  20. How eas the trophy parade received at half-time last night?
  21. 5 wickets at 38.8 in three Kookaburra rounds.
  22. Going back a while since I lived up that way but I'll vouch for The Taps too. If you're in St Annes, Pickles is still the business for quality lunchtime sandwiches. Have a wander up Clifton Drive if you want to see where 70s comedians have retired to.
  23. And Josh Baker's dad lifting the trophy. Very nice touch. It's a shame, though Trent Bridge is also a great venue (easy to say after Leicestershire taking over the place two years ago). Just needs to market itself as well as Edgbaston does with Finals Day. Big lads' day out in an area good for getting on the beers. National Village Cup final at Lord's tomorrow. Genuinely a great, cheap way to watch a final there - and a better standard of cricket than its name suggests. Plenty with Minor Counties and county 2nd XI experience involved.
