  1. I've just heard Tice angrilly claim on LBC that the tories have been offering inducments to their candidates to defect, whilst all along doing the same in the other direction. Guess I shouldn't be surprised.
  2. With the right charger and energy tariff you can safe around 85% of you fuel costs so £130 a month is certainly doable if you are currently spending over £150. Maintenance costs should also be lower as no oil to change and with good use of regenerative braking brakes and tyres will last longer.
  3. That sounds very expensive for electric, for that mileage I'd be spending around £70, so either the i4 is very inefficient or your not making the most of cheap overnight electric
  4. In Social Care we have a shortish of labour and low wages. How do you see AI solving that?
  5. Going full Trump
  6. Learnt my lesson last time. That is truly horrendous given that it is them that will take us out of the ECHR.
  7. Just when you thought they couldn't possibly sink any lower
  8. While I agree its a stupid thing to do, this is not in the same league as the accusations made against the tory hierarchy. They are accused of betting on the date, when they knew that date i.e insider trading and definately illegal. He is accused of betting on the result of his own constituency, the result of which he can't possibly know and I doubt very much is illegal. I would imagine that candidates have been doing this since time began and seems to me to be an attempt by the gambling commision to equal the playing field.
  9. You are of course right, but the same people recognise how shit the country now is. They simply don't make the link between how well they have done and how that effects the current younger generations. They then look back with their rose tinted glasses to their childhood and can see how the future could look for the young if only we went back there. Yes I know that makes no sense but to me that is where we are at. I talk as a fellow boomer.
  10. Tory rag in making stuff up shocker
  11. You certainly can plug it into a normal 13 amp socket just as you can with a full EV. THough I would get an electrician to carry out a safety check on the one you intend to use, as prolonged use at 10 amps will likely take advantage (fire) of any weekness there.
  12. I agree with the general tenant of your post, but that gave the impression you were conflating economic migrants over which government has full control with Asylum seekers where government have limited control. I know you are aware of the difference but conflating (even if only an impression given) does no favours to your argument.
  13. Not accurate, true of asylum seekers, but the vast majority of migrants to this country are coming here to work and since Brexit must have a job before they can get a visa. A recent poll though did indicate that nearly half of us believe asylum seekers make up the majority of immigrants, when the truth is they are around 15-20% of the total.
  14. Because life was so shit between 1997 and 2010,
  15. Not sure how much of this you have read , but I don't see an awful lot of love for Labour, just a loathing of the current government borne out of experience. In any case I think I speak for most on hear in saying it would be great to hear other voices in order to foster real debate, rather than it being an echo chamber which with a few exceptions it has become.
  16. You would need a three phase supply for anything above a 7 kw charger, which would not be cheap to install. In any case it would only be any use in any case if you has multiple vehicles to charge and/or your a very high mileage user.
  17. Well it does unless you are thinking of voting Tory😉
  18. He is clearly talking about national not individual wealth. Like any right thinking person he would, I expect, like all the citizens to be out of poverty and for the country to be able to afford fully functioning public services.
  19. And thats how an opposition manifesto should be and is not overly dissimilar to Blair's first manifesto. How can you make promises on detailed policy until you know how much mioney there is to play with. And I suspect they will find the public finances to be in an even worst state than they think they are leaving them with little room for manoeuvre. They should not have made promises on tax beyond the direction in which they wanted to go to raise additional revenue from, but I also recognise how difficult that would be or the Labour Party given the press obsession with taxation.
  20. Well if you have inconsistent views I am not sure how would even invent a party that you could find home with doing yourself and getting zero support as nobody else would perfectly align with you.
  21. Labour came 2nd in both 2017 and 2019 and https://tactical.vote are recommending Labour in 2024. According to the latest MRP poll on voting intentions in H&B Labour are on 32.85% Tories 32.24% with the LD a distant 4th behind reform on 11.14%. So a tactical vote for LD in Hinckley & Bosworth will let the Tories retain the seat.
  22. This is a myth perpetuated by all LD literature locally. Labour have almost always finished second in Bosworth. Yes LD poll well in local Council Elections but not in GE's. Tactical voting websites are recommending those not wanting another Tory Government to vote Labour here. Edit: Early Polling suggestions Labour are neck and neck with the Tories in the new constituancy of Hinckley & Bosworth with the LDs a distant third.
  23. Surely that makes it the right way round🤣
  24. An interesting listen but he gave no evidence for his assertion that clubs were going away from Season Tickets. As far as I can see the number of season tickets holders at our club has never been higher. I would also argue that the increases match day prices over recent years incomparison to ST pricing is encouraging ST holders to stay loyal. Not covinced that's a good thing but its clearly not going to discourage the holding of a season.
  25. There are many others who do work for the BBC and have commercial relationships with other organisations, so would you ban them all? If so how would you ensure that you could still attract talent to the BBC.
