  1. Psychologically this is always going to be a problem though. Fans and pundits are foever shouting we want consistency. So when a referee is called by a fellow referee to review they are always going to think, well they would have given it/not given it, so to satisfy the consistency shout I am going to have to change my mind. Not sure any amount of training will change that until fans/pundits accept that while the rules remain subjective, there will be a degree of inconsistency.
  2. If they are to introduce sin bins and I am agnostic in it myself, then they must remove time keeping from referee and ensure the clock is stopped whenever the ball is out of play it will soon become a joke.
  3. Again football is such a different game in this respect. Fielders are standing pretty still watching every moment of every ball bowled, captains are standing very close. In football players are running around trying to find space rather than concentrating on what is happening with the ball or other players, captains can be over 50yds from the action. I remain of the view that VAR will only work well for line decisions, and even then spoils the game for those watching live until such these can be made automatic using technology only. We should simply except that referees are human and expect that wrong decisions are part of the game. We except it of Managers and particulalrly players so why not referees. Seems to me VAR is just sanitising the game.
  4. But that would only work for offsides, ball over the line etc where you are pretty much dealing in facts, it would be no better than what we have now when subjective decisions are involved. In fact it has the potential for being worse as the powerful managers from the top teams would exert even more pressure on referee's.
  5. It is nearer 3% so yes guess you misheard, never the less it is a very small number yet this is where all the government energy is going.
  6. Is the EV also not on their list it is either and not both to be accepted. Because this is an intelligent tarriff you always have to go onto a standard tariff first in order to allow Octopus to confirm they are able to control either the car or the charger via the Smart Meter. However if that is not successful they will put you on their go tariff until such time as they can get you onto intelligent. This took under a week for me and would ussually be quicker for someone a little more tech savvy. Never the less if you currently are on a fixed tariff you may be best advised to stay where you are given the continuing volatility.
  7. Is that really the cause, or is it that the Tory Government has failed over the last 13 years to invest leading to the UK's productivity falling behind that of its neighbours. And Brexit.
  8. Have you tried Octopus, cheap EV tariff and comes out top in customer service reviews. I'm paying 7.5p per KW on their tariff for at least six hours (some days more) at night, and day tariff is just a could of pence more than the Govs price cap. Brings my average rate down to under 20p per KW. Price cap is around 27p as I understand it. You do need a smart meter though and either a compatible EV or Charger.
  9. Not me, but my mate after missing a three foot putt firstly wakked the ball into the sea, then we watched as his putter disappeared into the top of a very tall gorse bush. Took him, on his own, as we couldn't stand up for laughing, about ten minutes to retrieve it.
  10. It is though more explosive than petrol and requires much less of it to mix with air to form an explosive mixture. It is also very expensive to produce and transport. Otherwise it is perfect for cars🤣🤣
  11. Caz There's a clear difference between the BBC showing objectively and journalists posting on their SM accounts. Never the less BBC News Journalists have been given clear guidelines in which they must adhere, as we all know from the GL (Not a News Journalist) affair.
  12. I don't hear anyone here or elsewhere saying that they don't think it is terrorism. An organisatiuon choosing not to say it is not the same as trherm not thinking it. This has been a long held policy of the BBC not only as part of their committment to objective reporting but to also to mitigate the risks their reporters take every day to ensure we continue to recieve live reports from war zones all around the world.
  13. Further, the inhabitants of this country think they should have Scandinavian quality of public services and infrastructure for the US levels of taxation. All purpetuated by our great british press.
