Not sure if I’ve got the full context behind this as I’ve not read the entire thread but he didn’t just get them promoted, he got them up and then arguably did better than his replacement.

To be fair, it’s clear we need to cash in somewhere and they are the most likely destination for a couple so I can see why we didn’t. As long as we aren’t stupid with release and sell on clauses is the main thing IMO.

That was the press talk, and yeah we would be £6m up but with our finances looking absolutely shite, they have to be absolutely certain he is the right man and for me he no longer ticks one of the boxes we will be looking for, which is cheap.

Been listening to Undr The Cosh podcast a lot which interviews ex players, everyone one who has been on (that I’ve heard) who played under him raves about how good a coach/manager he is.

It will be specifically possession based “attractive” football, the board won’t be so specific as to insist we play inverted full backs. As for Cooper, Forest were very attacking in the Championship with fullbacks like Jed Spence chipping in loads of goals, but in the Prem against big teams he tended to sit back and barely attack. That said, he achieved his goals and Nuno hardly did better with the same squad.

It’s not remotely bad. He’s clearly the best manager out there on a free with Premier League experience but I’d question if he is the right fit for this squad/situation where we won’t really be able to spend.

Cooper did an incredible job at Forest, especially in keeping them up with all the chaos that he had to deal with. That said, he sets up very negatively against good teams from what I saw so I’d be shocked if we appoint him.
