Premier League Thread 2023/2024
The Horse's Mouth replied to Nalis's topic in General Football and Sport
I don’t buy this argument, how we can put anything on anybody last season is beyond me. We did it to ourselves, what’s with this victim mentality. Also we literally got found guilty of breaching FFP the season we won the championship to begin with and our only punishment was a fine like two years after the fact. Weren’t a big reason why this has only come about now was because they lodged an appeal last season which I mean they’re entitled to do. -
This race is gonna be shit and it’s probably done the exact opposite of it’s intention

It will never get that bad, our archaic electoral system protects the two establishment parties. Currently they’re polling at what would be the worst political wipe out in British history against an opposition that isnt exactly inspired. Starmers not exactly Blair he just seems well adjusted in comparison which ain’t exactly hard. braverman is arguably more popular than Sunak with the electorate, but she would likely send the party into more disarray. Sunak really isn’t electable, he’s absolutely toast he’s pulling at 19%. Jeremy Corbyn was literally more electable. The Major comparison are quite appropriate They should’ve called a general election after Boris went tbh, but they botched it with his successor only lasting a month. Had they called it earlier they could’ve had at least a healthy opposition and potentially forced labour into a slight minority government. Now they’re staring into the abyss, and any move they make now is pure damage limitation. them shuffling the deck once more genuinely is a complete free hit. Either way they’ll be in the shadows for sometime unless Starmer proper cocks up when he gets elected, which I can’t see for his faults he’s at least a statesman and has played his role relatively safe so far.
-
Also not to mention that he’s in the Chinese pocket, there are clear conflicts of interest with him taking that role. You’re being very optimistic if you think Rishi survives till the next election tbh. Sunak needed to keep Suella to keep the party in check, the knives will be out for him because he doesn’t even stand for anything, II don’t think he appeals to either of the factions in the party. The tories are so rooted now and them rolling the dice on another leader really isn’t out of the question, they have nothing to lose it really can’t get any worse for them, they’re doomed with Sunak.

David ****ing Cameron
-
I can see Nige just packing it up now, his farewell here finished the story

The excuses for not checking every car seem so ****ing daft to me , hire more staff then or keep the cars longer at the track. If you’re going to enforce the rule and have a high percentage of the test pool found guilty of infringement then it makes no sense, get rid or check every car

Ngannou is ****ing special man, didn’t he get into MMA really late as well, fair ****s to him. Fury definitely didn’t expect that, it definitely makes the Usyk fight a lot more interesting but I think he still takes it. Could see Hearn trying to use this as why Fury is “ducking” Joshua

The Israelis were literally evacuating women and children to the precise location that were going to bomb, they’ve continuously killed the innocent since this conflict began and have committed various war crimes, they’re both sickening. And I’m not disputing the need for the Jewish state, I’m criticising the current regime. You should probably understand from my post that I don’t support people saying gas the Jews and such, it was literally my point in taking sides in the conflict where both sides have committed evil atrocities to the other

Swear I heard someone saying he’s the most paid British boxer this year, sounds like bollocks but I bet it’s not far off
-
Tommy fury is proper embarrassing, he’s got into both of these fights like Tyson vs wlad
-
Ain’t he had like two major acl breaks and has only had two fights like
-
That was hilarious
-
None of that really relevant to what I said tbh, I’m not talking ability here am I else the geezer wouldn’t be fighting Logan Paul in his prime years, the man can sell a fight though
-
Dillon Danis is money ain’t he, I’ve never gave a shit about these daft little events but I’m actually somewhat invested
-
Pretty mad how every state voted No, I’d have thought Victoria would’ve edged yes at least. It’s really not surprising though, the yes campaign seemed so ambiguous.
-
I’ve never understood people who take sides in this conflict honestly, Hamas are ****ing vile and so is the state of Israel
-
I think Qatar are switching to a street circuit soon, this track is for bike racing really so it doesn’t translate well
-
Stroll is hilarious, he’s not that bad though remember

Not sure if I should weigh in this or not, but I’ll throw my two cents in, I don’t understand how this is a criminal case, it’s extremely distasteful and he’s clearly an utter ****, potentially under the influence. But honestly the end result of this should be a simple ban for life from football and move on.

The video of Farage and Priti has made my day

Yeah I’m not dismissing that either, I have reservations in terms of his pragmatism because he can get away with a lot at this level especially based on the talent he’s working with we also don’t have a lot to go off based on his cv.Look, a lot of these concepts arent exactly miles away what from Brendan implemented when we were effective and subsequently ineffective. But again at end of the day why are we even get hung up on it, we’ve had two dire seasons and this is almost a bit of a holiday season, enjoy the away days for people who go and let’s smash the league. Like this is what I don’t get man, why can’t people just enjoy the game anymore it’s all doom and gloom on the back of a ****ing 4-1 win like -

It’s so hard ain’t it, on one hand I kinda hope he goes out after a roaring season get us back where we belong, but at same time I want him playing till he’s 50. He’s the last man standing, I’ll probably never love a player as much as him again, it’s bittersweet whatever the outcome
