  1. Can't claim to be "in the know" but I was informed last week by a colleague who is also on the board at Bournemouth FC that their owner has bought a club down in New Zealand (Got home, googled and can verify he has) and that Jamie V is his first signing of note. Treating it with a pinch of salt whilst trying to find out more but I guess it's not implausible.
  2. How are people planning on getting back into central London (St Pancras/Euston stations etc) after the game to get home with all this train disruption? Is this gonna be an utter ball ache or pretty straight forward?
  3. What do people know about this top tier at Milwall? I can now make the game after getting an ad-hoc days leave from work but the only tickets available now are on the 2 outta corners of our allocation.(Unless someone on here has a spare in a different block?) Before I decide to get one does anyone know if, like I noticed at Bristol City, it's easy enough to go and find a space more central or are you confined to the block your ticket is allocated to. I love to be in the thick of things amongst the noise and chants and don't enjoy much being surrounded by what's prob gonna be a load of empty seats. Any advice? Cheers.
  4. Not sure where that is but is the population increasing or decreasing these days?
  5. From my own point of view, the car we are taking down to Bristol (I'm lucky enough to have a supercar) I worry about no matter where I park it but at least I know the areas......Bristol I don't and the 2 above examples were for comparison.
  6. Been looking and there's not much around, even peoples driveways are like £28 and tbh, you don't know if it's gonna be a Braunstone or a Bittteswell type area. My guess is the former. I'm afraid after an hour of searching and insisting I wouldn't out of principal, I've succumbed, thro gritted teeth and internal protest, to forking out £20 for Ashton Gate Parking. It says it's a secure car park, really near the ground and very easy to get away after.
  7. Any recommendations on parking tomorrow? Just looked on some fan assistance websites and the two main car parks near the ground are wanting £17.50 and £15 per car per game with a £2.50 booking fee. Anyone agree that's taking the piss a bit?
  8. 7 up for sale on LCFC site as I type and seem to be rising in numbers.
  9. There's one PC who's often between us and the opposing fans. His ego is almost certainly visible from space and his cocky over confidence and 'I'm always superior to you" attitude causes more friction than anything. There are nearly always these 2 female PC's around (One I chat to often who rolls her eyes when I speak about his attitude) when he tries to exert his authority and during one row when I accused him of bullying some 13-14 year olds in front of us, who are actually with their dad and have no qualms in having banter with the away fans, and just trying to show off in front of the 2 female PC's, you could see the anger in him and his efforts to push me further so he can arrest me by coming up to my face, finger pointing. I mean what harm can 2 12-14 year olds do with their dad? You've only got to look over at the opposition fans and he's on your case to watch the game. Believe me, he's the sort that is looking for any excuse to assert his ego driven authority. Absolute shit of a copper!
  10. Pretty sure this ain't going to make it down to my tier so if anyone can help out with 1 for this I'd be really grateful. Cheers
  11. Didn't realise until recently that a ban also includes the fan store too, not just games or grounds.
  12. To answer you, no I haven't seen the amount of bans from tweets or posts. I was thinking more down the line of issues at games as not seen a single LCFC fan being escorted out. I have a mate who is serving a ban but that was for the Forest away trouble in the town centre.
  13. Am a bit surprised by this even with the heavy handed stewarding at our home games..... https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/26917501/football-violence-clubs-arrests-premier-league-team/
  14. I think Leicester City Football Club was Vichai's baby and he treated it as such. I just don't get the same feeling and vibes from Top. Feels more like we are a distant uncle.
  15. Remember above where I said I always enjoy your balanced posts Ric? Either this isn't one of them or I may have lied!
  16. I agree. The truth probably lies somewhere in the middle. Things did start to make sense surrounding his sacking as, if I remember correctly, there was a resounding shock around the footballing world after where CR took us. It just had to be internal politics. (Always enjoy your balanced posts Ric)
  17. Can't answer that I'm afraid. What I posted was what I was told from a PA based at the training ground. CR wanted his own DOF, wouldn't sign a contract unless JR was moved on/out so the club sacked Claudio in favour of JR as it was untenable and CR's players had had their ears bent by agents who JR had good relationships with and results reflected this. All internal politics I guess.
  18. From what I was told from within, Rudkin was the reason Claudio was sacked. They wanted Claudio to sign a new contract but he wanted his own DOF in (an Italian fella apparently) and Rudkin gone as there was a lot of friction between the two as Rudkin had become aware of Claudio's demands. Rudkin was having words in the ears of agents which was cascading down to the players which is why our results at that time were not good. Basically, as far as I'm aware, Claudio said "it's him or me, I'll sign an extension but I want him gone and my own fella in".......they went with Rudkin due to the close friendship with Whelan. I do remember seeing an interview with Claudio months after and he was alluding to problems with behind the scenes people that led to his sacking but he wouldn't name who. It was obviously Rudkin tho.
  19. Saw a young kid in full LCFC kit at Chelsea have his flag/banner taken off him as it didn't have a fire safety tag attached. They were being searched just in front of us and as much as his dad pleaded and his kid was looking gutted they wouldn't allow it. How far is this sanitising of the match day experience going to go because I'm really beginning to despair at this type of thing?
  20. But your post is a moan!
  21. He’s registered at our local vets but it was deemed not a good idea to transport him over and just let Medivet do the surgery. He’s had a rear leg amputated which looking at the invoice breakdown was £1000 for the surgery. It’s all the add ons and meds that’s brought it up to £3300, exactly what that recent news report has highlighted. They need to be more transparent about costs as it feels like they can just pick a number out of the sky and charge you. I have 2 A4 size papers of all the add ons. To answer your question, I took him for a check-up on Monday as he had a very brief seizure on Sunday and he’s doing unbelievably well and coping with it and mentioned the costs at Medivet showing concern for the amount of adhoc charges. I did get an eye roll as if to give an acknowledgement of their practices, etc but nothing really said. He has to go back on Friday so I’ll take the Medivet invoice and ask if it’s about right. Tbf, I think in this day and age £3300 for that surgery isn’t too bad but when it’s £1000 on the invoice and you’ve been quoted £2000 and it turns out it’s £3300 really ain’t sitting right with me. Looking at the kitten now with the love and vulnerability in his eyes as he tries to adapt is worth every penny, it’s just the way Medivet have gone about it that leaves a bad taste. They have you over a barrel once the surgery has been done.
  22. 4 spare in SU6 right now.
  23. Cheers for that Parafox. The only reason I let them do the op is it was too much extra stress to take the cat my local vets where he's registered and are reasonable. Absolute charlatans!
  24. My first to Hull in many years too. Asked a few mates and they have suggested The Admiral Of the Humber. Dunno much about it other than It's a Wetherspoons and around 10 mins walk from the ground apparently.
  25. Can anybody advise on this.... A cat of ours went missing 2 months ago, 2 nights ago Medivet in Birstall (Over 25 miles away) emailed me to say he'd been found (locally to where we live) injured and had been taken there as it was a 24hr surgery. I contacted them to be told he needed surgery for a serious injury so shot over there to discuss. I spoke to one of the vets (maybe she was a veterinary nurse) and It was put to me that euthanasia would not be contested if chosen because of the condition he was in and it was almost recommended. I asked about the costs of the surgery needed and, after she checked the computer systems, I was told lower £2000, Once I saw him I said just do the surgery as I wanted to give him every chance and the costs seemed reasonable for what needed doing. They also said they could castrate him at the same time to save him going thro another op and to help stop him roaming again so I expected a slightly higher cost. I was asked to pay 50% up front and leave him with them which I did, £1000. The op for the injury was done yesterday but the vet surgeon said he didn't see the notes about castrating him so didn't do it. FFS! I had a call earlier regarding the cats progress and it was mentioned the costs are £3300. I'm shocked and ****ing angry and have emailed them to say so, asking how and why they could be so wide of the mark and that it's completely unacceptable and had I been told the true cost I would probably have taken a different course of action and try to live with myself for doing so. I want answers and an explanation and I also want the costs brought back to somewhere I was quoted along with an explanation as to why they have ****ed up the castration which will mean another general anaesthetic op for him in the future, albeit elsewhere. Where does anyone think I stand with this? It really feels like they are making the costs up as they go along now, testing the water as to my reaction when they tell me to see if they can push it further. Jeez, I'm getting angrier just typing this! How can they get to this number from what I was told it would be? Anyone else have experience of these chancers?
