19th over. 5 wides off the first ball. Then we manage two singles of the six balls. I mean it's a great game of cricket, but we are so bloody frustrating -

Indeed. Patel is so much better than anyone else, it's almost embarrassing. Mulder hits a nice four, gets us ahead of the curve, then holes out. I know it's an easy game played on a keyboard, but sometimes our thinking is not great -

Kimber once again making a minimal contribution. Trouble is Hanscomb just pushing ones puts all the pressure on the batter at the other end -

bugger. But what a knock. Handscomb and Mulder have enough experience to see this through with ones and twos and the occasional boundary. Keep our heads -

you would imagine he will get a Hundred gig, and he deserves on frankly. I think Josh already has one doesn't he? Our team for our Metro Cup defence might be a little thin, to say the least -

Well, whatever happens, that first over performance from Rishi was superb. He really is some player. Love him -
Craig could not be more Tory boy if he tried. It's the red trousers. The gilet. The plumpness. The voice that sounds as if he's in the throes of puberty. The total lack of morality and ability to understand the difference between right and wrong.

thought the Durham lot were good to be fair, and Harmy doesn't half rate Hull, and you'd imagine Harmy knows a thing or two about fast bowling! -
I think people who will vote Tory this time are what I would called 'blind loyalists' who feel that a vote for Labour is a vote for communism (yet alone socialism). Their hatred of Labour is their strongest overriding emotion.

I'm Gabriel Pereira in this moment and I am very interested in this project. I heard very much nice things about your Narborough Road

In truth it's down to FFP that we can't spend obscene amounts.

Working on the basis of a six point deduction, we need 44 points, as 38 is most likely enough. So to answer your question specifically, the following playing record P38. W12. D8. L18. PTS 44 (-6=38) We have to draw with teams like Brighton and Wolves. We have to beat the likes of our fellow promoted teams and Forest. And obviously we have to do the double over appalling teams like Manchester United.

I couldn't go today, but was at Millwall last week. As painful as that performance was, to see and hear how much it meant to Millwall fans was also proper football. As indeed was the case at Plymouth. Our football clubs mean so much to us

Agreed - although sometimes that could be seen as 'probing'. The greatest example I've seen of how this system could be more flexible is a home game some time ago, when Mads and one of the defenders played a bit of to-me, to-you. Then Patson trotted back inside our half, before turning, sprinting forward, at which point Mads launched the ball forward, Patson beat the defender and scored. It was a proper inventive, but very much a 'route one' goal. Basically just mixing it up, which is what we failed to do so dramatically at Millwall. When we were more direct in the final minutes we created three chances (Ricky's shot, headers by Kelechi and Patson). Even given how poor we were we should have emerged from that game with a late equaliser.

I feel there are just two things we need to do to give ourselves the best chance to win. One, the manager needs to instruct Wout not to charge forward. It rarely leads to a goal, and more often it leads to a turnover and opportunity for the opposition. It's a pointless play. Second, ping loads of diagonal balls to the wingers, and have them run to Plymouth's box, as they both cause chaos. It also widens the game. That's it. It's that simple in my eyes.

I guess if it's a sad family issue then he deserves all the time he needs. Might be worth the powers that be communicating that, rather like the Harry Brook tour withdrawal decision earlier in the year. -

Agreed. If it is simply a row of some kind, however intense it was, then the Chief Executive needs to get on top of the situation, lead some kind of mediation process in which both parties apologies and shake hands, in order to get one of our assets back to work. -
So with Ipswich and Leeds having five games left, I looked at a five game form table. Leeds and us have 10 points, Ipswich 9. So if they repeat their form, they both finish on 96 points. Meaning we need to win three of our final six games to go up 'by the barest of margins'. And I realise this is all pointless speculation as I put off embarking on my next task at work. You're welcome.

I very much like it when Jamie Vardy chases down a seemingly lost cause. Always makes me happy!

FA Cup: Chelsea (A) 4-2 Post-Match Thread

I'm not great at football tactics - I'm far too emotional and one eyed, but watching us yesterday and in recent weeks, I have an observation that I think is relevant. My comparison hear is the 'Bazball' example in English cricket, which basically means full on attack, and it's proven very exciting over the last couple of years, but actually has come unstuck against the top nations. Many are calling for Bazball 2.0, where the ethos remains to attack, but you allow more orthodox players like Joe Root to play in the way that has bought them huge success for a decade. Yesterday in particular we were torn apart defensively, and frankly it was predictable. But what would happen was reasonably obvious. Hamza (who most agree is a very limited player) moves forward when we are in possession. But the moment we lose possession he is out of position and we are defensively vulnerable. Similarly Wout loves a charge forward, but the moment he loses possession, we're massively over exposed (yesterday leading to the Doyle red card). I don't think there is anything fundamentally flawed playing football the Enzo way, but we simply have to find a way of ensuring adequate cover if one of the four defenders is making a sortie up the field. Opponents aren't necessarily carving us open with their creativity. They're waiting to steal the ball from us half way inside their own half, moving it forward quickly, at which point they have an overload. QPR's first goal a classic example. A simple way to manage this would be to instruct Wout (or a replacement) to simply remain in our half at all times in open play. I very much want Enzo to succeed with us. I admire him to sticking to his principles, but good leaders in all walks of life know when to swallow a bit of pride and evolve their thinking. -
The only real issue is do you play Winks and KDH? They are our most important players, neither has an adequate replacement, but they both appear jaded of late

none at all - well, I guess Top is barely visible at the ground and he's just got married
