Whatever will be will be, but we have the right manager and a good team right now. If we’re going to yo-yo so be it, at least we aren’t a boring team to follow. Winning pots is all it’s about, we do that in spades.

The Mitchell Starc none catch was an umpire review. We shouldn’t be losing a review because the issue was with the ruling of control of body.

I think the point is it should have been an umpire’s review rather than us doing it.

Oh aye, and the missed stumping and dropped catches. Batted well in rain affected matches though

Bairstow’s initial contact moved the stump but didn’t dislodge the bail. The third umpire’s decision was that the bail spigots hadn’t left the grooves before Smith made his ground after Bairstow had taken the ball which wasn’t the case.

Doesn’t matter he’d removed the bail.

The run out was out, clearly out, the bail was out of both middle and off stump. No wonder Smith has such a good average at the Oval, he’s had 4 lives.

I think it’s quite a selflesd retirement; we have SL and WI at home next summer, so time to blood some bowlers for the next Ashes against modest opponents. Probably didn’t fancy the away series on dust bowls in India either. 😅

I know we lost wickets towards the end but I’d have bitten your hand off for a 377 lead. Going to be some chase if they pull it off and they’ll be deserved winners. Should be some decent overhead conditions and a dry deck, which could bring in a bit of reverse.
