  1. Used to live near me in East Goscote in a regular house. That was in the days when these guys weren’t rewarded as well as they are today. I loved the Bloomfield team that he played with and it was, perhaps, my happiest times watching them play. (Although I also loved a few other teams down the years as well, especially Wallace, MON, Pearson and Ranieri 😁). Living in Canada now but, luckily, because of DAZN, we get to watch every game and, like everyone else we cannot understand the substitutions, wonder why Iheanacho has been excluded from the team and all say “I think we are going to lose because we are only 2-0 up with 15 minutes to go”. Hahaha.
  2. Just shy of three hours drive for me. Steve Guppy was indeed at the Rochester Rhinos. I was supposed to meet him at a game between Toronto FC and Aston Villa, but he couldn’t make it. He did, however, send me a Leicester shirt signed by all the players. I still have it. Despite Guppy’s non-appearance, I got to wave my Leicester scarf and cheer MON, who was situated near my seat. (My wife refused to allow me to put MON IS GOD on my car number plate several years prior. He is one of my all time heroes and it was great to see him again).
  3. Single criterion: Must be able to get it over the first defender at least once every game. (Would prefer someone who can achieve the former without it flying over everyone and running out for a goal-kick on the far side)
  4. Commentator’s curse. They were just saying how he was a “Master” up front, then he misses a sitter.
  5. We should all get together sometime when this COVID thing is behind us and watch a game. There are four of us here in Cambridge who watch the games on the projector in my basement. However, we’ll be happy to deive somewhere in my car.
  6. Maybe they are like me.....and have a long memory. League cup final 1999. Aholes on the pitch trying to get Savage sent off. Aholes off the pitch.....Young men verbally bullying young kids, women and old men wearing Leicester scarves travelling on the tube to the game. I have absolutely no respect for a team or supporters like that. It is utterly different to visiting places like Sheffield, Newcastle etc where there is good humoured banter in the pub. Add me to the list of people who despise Spurs. By the way, when I posted the above comment in answer to a similar question a couple of weeks ago, several other fans told their own stories of the Spurs fans disgusting behaviour that day. One Leicester fan said that his little brother was so scared he refused to ever go and watch Leicester again. THAT is why we hate them.
  7. Eh? He didn’t do anything of the sort. Is this guy deaf, or just stupid? Corden was making the point that the new system is intended to stop teams like Leicester ever winning the top competition again. He only mentioned Liverpool once, when he lists the teams who have signed up. How can Blodgett possibly listen to this clip and suggest that Corden said “ Leicester are on the same level as Liverpool”. Cognitive dissonance at its most extreme. As it happens, we are ahead of Liverpool right now, which does, as Corden points out, “give every fan hope”. THAT is the whole point. Don’t even get me started on Tottenham’s success over the last 60 years and their fans blathering on about how they are a top 6 team.
  8. Maybe he is like me.....and has a long memory. League cup final 1999. Aholes on the pitch trying to get Savage sent off. 9. I’m not sure which is the most annoying. The cheating itself, the fact that the referees don’t punish it, or the commentators who seem to implicitly suggests that it is OK. Is anyone else fed up watching opposing players standing two yards in front of someone trying to take a free kick? They have absolutely no right to do that but they are NEVER pushed back by the referee....never mind being booked for what used to be called “unsportsmanlike conduct”. Just another example of unpunished cheating.
  10. Nothing to do with “being frail”. Cheating....pure and simple. Spurs do it every game they play. The commentators weigh in saying “Let’s not blame Son for over-reacting. He got a finger in the eye and that is very painful”. Replay shows that the fingers went nowhere near his eye, yet he was rolling around in agony for ages”. Cheating....pure and simple. Commentators should call it for what it is.
  11. I don’t think he did. The four vital players are the other guys.
  12. I hope that is true. Having watched Morgan throw himself in front of many, many shots......blocking most of them, it was a huge disappointment to see Thomas turn his back and make no effort at all to block the shot for the second goal. He is a promising young lad, but he went down in my estimation tonight. Hope he got a good bollocking after the game.
  13. Just like last time a “great player” was going to take us apart. His name was Di Maria. Most of us will remember how that turned out. https://www.google.ca/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&ved=2ahUKEwiyu9bUz-LuAhUBUzUKHf0nAYIQwqsBMAJ6BAgBEAg&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.premierleague.com%2Fvideo%2Fsingle%2F847381&usg=AOvVaw3CUn6X98jwStbADDbCRoQN
  14. I think that it might be a bit difficult to get this going as a Leicester song, but, for anyone who was there on the day we played Everton (when we were awarded the Premier League trophy in 2016), crying tiers of joy, as I and many others did, it might bring back some fond memories. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uL52AuF4QzY
  15. Went to his testimonial match. It was a fantastic night and we all sang our hearts out. Loved that guy.
  16. My body is a bit like Aurier’s. When I stand up straight, my left shoulder is to the right hand side of my right foot. Can’t comment further because I’ve got to go now and climb the tower in Notre-Dame.
  17. For the third time in a row, the Tottenham defender has (IMHO) obstructed Abraham. The first two were by making no attempt to head the ball, but by just getting under Abraham as he jumps and pushing underneath him so he cannot effectively head te ball. This time it was Dier with his hand in the middle Abraham’s chest to stop Abraham reaching the ball. The commentator says “The defender did enough to stop him getting aN attempt in target”, as if it is all legal. Giroud may well have been stronger and resisted the foul, but is it not a foul?
  18. It’s the new regulation. “If you you shout out in pain when anyone touches you, however lightly, the opposition player is awarded a yellow card”. There is an additional codicil for Tottenham players “The opposition player doesn’t actually have to touch you. If it looks like he might have come close to fouling you, even if there was no contact, you are entitled to claim a yellow card if you shout very loud, hold your face and roll around a bit”.
  19. Any idea who the co-commentator was for this game? I remember the voice, but can’t put a name to it.
  20. I’m confused by this comment. It matters not whether he used his “arm” to control the ball, if the ball hit a spot on his body that is not included in the definition of the “arm”. If the ball hit him above his sleeve line, it cannot be called a handball. Happy to have cleared that up for tou.
  21. I was a fan when Leicester last beat Arsenal on their ground in the days of Lenny Glover (on the wing) and (the mighty) String in 1973. Tonight was absolutely marvellous. A shite first 59 minutes till Vardy came on, then a complete turnaround because we attacked them and had belief we could win the game. Watched it all in my Canadian son-in-law’s basement. He is a huge Leicester fan and was going beserk. Absolutely wonderful. I love football and I love Leicester.
  22. I’m here in Cambridge, Ontario. Wish you all the best and hope you manage to get a group together.
  23. There may be another option for you guys. We watch every Leicester game (and any other EPL game we want, live or recorded) using a legal streaming service in Canada called DAZN. $20 Canadian a month. I don’t need a VPN to access the service because I live here, but others, in the UK, might. (FYI I have found Expressvpn to be very stable). On their web-site they say they are showing all 202/2021 Premier League games. I don’t know if that is still true, given the recent negotiations. They offer a free trial, so it is hard to see any risk in giving it a go. https://www.dazn.com/en-CA/welcome?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI3b3Tu82s6wIVE4bICh3N_g1bEAAYASAAEgI8tfD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
  24. DEFINITION FOR FAN (2 OF 3) fan2[ fan ]SHOW IPA noun an enthusiastic devotee, follower, or admirer of a sport, pastime, celebrity, etc.: a baseball fan; a great fan of Charlie Chaplin. ORIGIN OF FAN2 1885–90, Americanism; short for fanatic SYNONYMS FOR FAN supporter, enthusiast, partisan, booster, addict. EXCEPTION FOR THE DEFINITION OF FAN (Limited to Leicester City Fans) an occasionally enthusiastic devotee, but often can become a negative miserable cvnt. Exemplified by the result of the Leicester City Fan Forum Poll in answer to the question “How do you know you are a Leicester Fan? The winning answer? “We are two nil up, with 10 minutes to go and I am are convinced that we are going to lose”
  25. I’ll join the chorus of people who say “just because you don’t get to every game, that doesn’t automatically make you a plastic fan”. Unlike the previous poster above, I have had the great fortune to go to the stadia (Filbert Street and King Power) many times. By the way, I have also been to Bristol in the rain on Tuesday night, along with many other cities and towns. The end of season Leyton Orient, FA Cup Harlow and Notts County friendly games being my favourites of all time. However, these days it is a rare occasion, despite my total devotion to Leicester City. In my case I live in Canada, but I’m sure that many people have other very valid reasons for not watching every game, or not singing through every game. I’m like the bloke above; I now lose my voice after about 15 minutes of singing, but I still love every minute of every game.....(except when Ndidi or Gray line up to take a shot from outside the box....then I just burst out laughing. Mind you, it still isn’t as much fun as watching Schlupp shoot one 30 yards over. Hahaha) Personally, I don’t much like the sight of the Man City tourists taking selfies and looking at their cellphones during games, but I think that we will likely see more and more of it if we manage to sustain ourselves near the top of the Premiership. I’ll console myself with the fact that I’m pleased that people think “Glory Hunting” means supporting Leicester City now, rather than Man United.
