In the last few years we have won the one day cup and won Division 2 both major sucesses for the club so I would be loathe to blame coaching or recruitment. A county our size can't really expect to be successful in all formats all the time. However we have so far been disappoining in both the formats we have played in so so you would probably want to look at this season in isolation. 1. Losing Maharaj so late on was absolutely massive we got him in so early last season and to lose him leave ourself scrambling was massive. 2. Losing Hanscombe see above only add in his leadership. 3. Losing Rehan to IPL last minute less of a biggie as you kind of expect it the level he is at but just compounded 1 and 2. 4. Short of fast bowlers Van Beek hasn't been replaced and Ian Holland has struggled to do it on his own and hull has stagnated/regressed. 5. Ben Green wrong choice for t20 captain but I think they used it as a cherry to get him to sign. 6. Repeatedly choosing to bat last when we look a much better side defending a total.

That's good news we are seriously short of batsman at the minute

Disagree if Kelly hadn't slipped or we had scored 15 more runs in the last 10 overs we would have won that

I hope not! be far better for his development to play all 8 one day cup than a few 5 ball overs in that garbage.

Agreed the Lord's pitch got absolutely lambasted but at least we got an action packed test match! this is as bad if not worse for different reasons.

Nice! Admittedly a very small sample size but looked tidy with bat and ball v Yorkshire in the championship.

Criminal that he hadn't been selected but Chuffed to get rehan in for the next two blast games hopefully England's loss is our gain and we can get half a foot in the semis before he goes off to play in t20 series v india.

Nick Kelly has been a fantastic overseas signing. Top scorer in the blast and now turning up in the championship if Hanscombe is still being non comital next season we should move heaven and earth to get him back!

The frustrating thing about our toxic fans is not only are they utterly toxic but they are also unbelievably useless and lazy as fuch to boot. Making zero progress in applying pressure to force the Thais out. They can't even get Rudkin out. The so called "protests" are an absolute embarrassment with a few cretins holding soggy miss spelt signs. And several failed go fund me's. They cant even get themselves into a organised group with a name. They are fickle as fuch too with the Rudkin out chanting completely grinding to halt for the Maresca season. They are also incabeable of understanding nuance other City fans are in their minds either as toxic as them or some kind of King Power fan boys. The idea that you can think the club is a shit show but not agree with their ineffective, self destructive toxicity is totally alien to them. All they have succeeded in achieving is turning foxes talk into a boring miserable echo chamber contributing negatively to the clubs chances of success. I will end my rant with a question to the toxic boys how close out of 10 do you think King Power is to selling up due to fan pressure? And has that number changed over the last 4 years?

That innings was bloody marvelous such grit and character from this team. Yes we all know they aren't good enough to stay up, that's ok it happens. All you want is a team that gives everything and doesn't lay down and these are certainly doing that.

Personally I wouldn't fancy fast bowling 20 overs in day like their opening bowlers will have then coming back the very next day with a old ish ball and have to get 10 wickets. But different story if they get a couple of wickets tonight though!

I fully expect to have egg on my face by close of play but I think Essex made a mistake enforcing the follow on! Providing we can navigate the next 10 overs unscathed we get tomorrow with an not new ball and a knackered bowling attack.

Awful! I feel bad criticising him to harshly I genuinely think he has dementia or something similar.

It's hypothetical but Essex probably do have the attack to exploit those conditions and we would have been 80-5 or something at tea and everyone would have been saying why the hell did we bat! I don't necessarily think it's toss decisions letting us down we just have comfortably the worst/most unbalanced team in the division

Yeah I was more thinking of the limited over stuff, I remember him being a lot more threatening but that could just be that he had a good game in the one day cup final and my memory playing tricks on me.

Hulls lack of development is particularly worrying he is actually worse now at 21 than he was when he was 19. That shouldn't happen!

If you had told me after the first 3 games that we would be joint second after 5 I would have looked at you like you were smoking crack! Despite not looking convincing even in our two wins a combination of small improvements, terrible opposition and other results going our way means we are well in this competition!

He will be playing for the England lion's won't he? Good chance we him for to 2 county championship games starting the end of next week especially as he hasn't played any cricket this year.
