  1. I wouldn’t disagree, and fair points,Dortmund/Bayern with Hitzfeld, but years before dutch teams plus a few others played various versions of “pure football” which it never was. Top English clubs before PEP most didn’t play hoofball,a mixture of possesion, or fast transition ,it suited some & not others..With another group of players Rodgers might of been successful Enzo has just given us a new system and platform, with his new ideas to change our clubs style. What’s made it succeed is that every squad player left on our steps after loans wanted & took to our system.Even Souttar, suprises me he hasn’t been given more gametime because of his willingness to stay… Anyway Enzo immediately had effect, his results vibrated through the corridors of the club & quickly got the squad on his side, and earlier on, some players had their hands slapped, then returned with more fervour Just that Faes/Vesty Coady/Nelson seemed to have Enzo’s main eye & trust.. Ditto to other positions, and they have all payed back, not one selection choice has failed. From the old gunnies to bringing in young guns from Academy or out of the market Fatawu/Cannon/Akgun plus loanees. Despite impatient OTT moans from fans on 19-22 yr olds finding their feet with new teammates & system. Though we are/were gobsmacked on the incredible turn around of our onfield achievements, because of 3 other teams also turning out long consistent positive runs, though earlier 98% of fans would of been happy with play-off (maybe even Enzo’s thoughts & idea) we have now reached that EOS run time, that will decide 2 teams bragging rights..Enzo has given & put us to be fair in a position club and fans were not expecting, his system has already proved it’s worth, but it’s fate will be measured and held high if or when players performing within the system b rings the championship title cake home, by twist of cynicism some fans & pundits will be now dissapointed with 2nd.. Whatever the outcome Enzoball ,system & ideology hasn’t failed,it pulled this club out of the gutter and stopped immediately fans fears of slipping into twighlight-zone of years of struggles. A new version of possession football with method has given LCFC meaning, the future hurdles will test to see how long our new era lasts, and can this Enzo version of system with tweaks achieve the phases, the fans will be begging for…like one the antique shows, fans by nature..always want more.
  2. Now. A few have had their groans, & stamped their feet, I bet the other quiet 30 thousand will be happy to sit & watch either on TV,take the dog for a walk or 3.5k will get their best Sunday footy Toggers on and go and watch them play down at the old Butchers hook.. prawn sandwiches & a few Piccolos or a Gud ol pint at the Courtfield tavern & a cheese n onion cob or a Gud ol nosh of fish n chips.. PS: get a nice breakfast if you go early before game or any other faire. Use to hav early serving hours On Sundays..
  3. Yeh, I reckon all of us go through these potential predictions..
  4. So simple, but so diiicult to get this top post.. into everyone’s mindset..I am 70 next Saturday, from day one I enjoyed & welcomed the idea, though I needed @StriderHiryu and the Enzos tactical video to put the rubber stamp on convincing me. Even consistent “hospital pass” retry situations, backpass to move oppo players out of position, slow or fast transitions, planned and not just goofball or hoofball.I have become not slowly but quickly a fan. This in turn gives you from life’s experience a massive trust in patience and allow the ball ( system) roll a long way. Each week in detail, against the Fanstrom & consistent questions … Enzo picked up the guantlet and solved 99% of that gameday selection and tactic…Even games lost,or pts dropped, We created better chances & movement, without me even trying to be bias… but like us the oppo deserve credit for thwarting our chances.. Enzo gives us the right thought process,,, Its football it happens…We go again. I said from the beginning,I don’t know why,but he gives me confidence, that this new approach & system will achieve its goals. Another thing, this is not a Pep Gardiola system, but Enzo version with his ideas. What he is doing is of his own nature & charcter, obviously he will be thankful for his apprenticeship with PeP. But LCFC is Enzos’s case and baby… System, Enzo ideas needs patience & encouragement ,it’s still in its infant stage, it will be evolving & developing while rolling along.Errors mistakes will happen, sofar they are few & far between… There is movement, situations & routines he will repeat to try and improve the squads dynamic…occasional disaster, but he see the value.
  5. Why it should come up has a major talking point on Leicester city forum gives credit where not deserved.. why not push it to “I got something to say,but doesnt deserve its own thread”
  6. Amazes me that posters are digging too deep on the Mcateer case. Young lad in his first season & turned into a Utility player under Enzo. love to see him in centre. He’s done well from there. But without any cynical or discreditting thought on Mcateer,. I would prefer at this moment to test longer Akgun. Ndidi might not return to that form needed immediately. Time is short..Ndidi is not that automatic saviour, other lines will have to be tried & trusted. Another thought would be Nacho also to slot in no8/10 he is more than capable..He’s played it has sub,and not only this season.
  7. Big fault with post Too detailed without knowing Enzo’s orders and organised tactics Important… Starsky did more than his job..any errors,no more than Mads, especially that heartattack pass that Enzo seems to love GK short pass to nearest defender head of triangle, sometime times through the middle to supposed free midfielder. Sends fans and commentators into palpitations ,but our Gks, do it everyweek 3-6 times.. Thats Enzo Long/short release or deliveries Thats Enzo… Excellent saves,deflect/punch/catch Thats GKs which Starsky is more than pretty decent, some of his catches Sometimes so far have been outstanding.. He kept the net empty against Bournemouth..& Birmingham.
  8. Sorry to correct you on this but enough fantastic photos, videos,(snapshots in games) where you will see both Banks & Shilton punching.. There was even at the time who was the best puncher,Shilton,Clemence,Jennings, Bob Wilson ( Arsenal) ,plus some top european GKs… This was at the peake maybe of my watching, following time for city, though I really started my fanatic time with Gillies being appointed manager.. This also coincided with my highest & best participant era of my own sports history. At Tigers, some other RFCs,and Athletes, clubs there were cross discusions on reaction time..Cricket, Slip catching=Gk great saves… Lacrosse=Aussie Football=Hurling.. Then hights achieved in jumping..GK-punches=Rugby line outs without lifters. Then various obvious Athlete disciplines, even Profi water polo GKs In some stats at the time Shilton came out on top… Dont underestimated the past history and present of techniches of GK-punching. Again great GK legends, going back to the 50s..world more open info to stats from the 60s..Yashin,Banks,Shilton,Clemence etc
  9. Rodgers went through that FA. Cup triumph, seemed to be stearing the club, and squad in the right direction. Hit by a massive chronic injury list, and it was with our major star and position players.. He still held it together for awhile, then learning KP would suffer Financial , plus FFP problems, Rodgers has the club representative lost the plot, and in fan hindsight rushed along Like quicksand.. His system not so unlike ENZO'S. Over 2 seasons those players just couldnt get those transition stages meshing then both manager and players lost confidence in each other, Rodgers has manager though a swine of a situation should of held it together.. I reckon a lot of managers would of caved in, but he was in the hot seat still with a quality squad, despite rumblings & various agendas from the fan base, some quite vicious and cynical, others with more balanced platforms and strong base... He should of got the players on his side, and used all his playing resources at the right times after the start of his last season, he lost the fight & belief.. & went mardy Probably like other managers would, but it was him in the position.. The club because of Covid, FFP & chronic injuries to top resources, fans not willing to understand the douer situation, crying out for more, more, more, which the club didn't deliver, just not grasping the clubs Twighlight-zone situation of reassesing, decision making for needs of the natural reinvestment in playing staff, the were worse than now. KP... Company & family had hit a financial wall, that was vibrating through all world wide businesses, not just Sport.. Top & KP were incorrectly and unfairly criticised, the were faced with FFP regulations and Covid backlash, that could of sent this club into spiral "Administration" collapse.. WHY Rodgers was allowed so long, "couldn't live with him, couldn't live without him" financial situation, including hope he could still on the field turn it. While off-field Top, KP simply lost that deep pocket and financial clout, just like the family business... THEY could of walked, they didn't, and sat down to first muster a plan, to regain a worthy lost position. They agreed a new approach and a reliable change of system, they found Enzo & took an educated guess and chance... Like us, pleasantly suprised with a suppressed hope, that has worked maybe 1-2 seasons earlier. Not forgetting Club will still have to work with off-field restraints and regulations... If Rodgers had succeeded, would our future have succeeded.. (????)
  10. It takes a blood Welshman with an Irish name, to put over another top post to show these English twits…( Unfortunately also so stamped) this doubting mix of naysayers chavs, cynics, anybody from braunstone, hillbilly’s… Thankgod we have an Italian who can shine the light up the quality and nous of our local lads, and the Worldwide melting pot mix of our squad. But we East midland boys have got a stubborn streak and many of us from good football fan stock, every forum have the bottom swimmers who love to grovel up any shit.. On a positive note fans and squad are moving forward & both sides are creating unforgettable memories, from field and Terrasses
  11. He will have collected more memories over the years..and Birmingham wasn't bad either so thats 400 quid already You will be the next act next to him For east midlands best snidey remarks Contest.. At 49 quid a pop..
  12. I just hope we don’t have a section of fans, who do the same… Entitled celebration before end of any match,or before descisions made… It is bloody funny though… wish we had some emoji stronger than..
  13. If they Leeds & Ipswich don’t drop points,we just have to equal them, with a loss and a draw buffer,….or 3 draws if GD we keep the upperhand… Or if we think positive, every points loss from Leeds n Ipswich helps to better our buffer balance.. For Southampton…We have to return 3 losses and a draw,or 6 draws,or a mix thereof. Permutations,Permutations & permutations …with and without pts record… This has slapped a few in the face, that thought cynically, there is not too much in the championship or lower leagues..
  14. Want to bring this to the for… Again Stolarczyk-Starsky pulled out another top performance Again all around HIS area, his distribution has improved a little, but like Mads,is susceptable to blackouts playing to that tip of the triangle defender.. which worries the Terrasses somewhat but his saves and commanding that box has been as good as many “2 top leagues” GKs ,taking into account his so little time in a competitive game, working on every gameday routine that he hasn’t yet experienced… Bloody marvellous what he has brought to the table, If Mads gets injured I see he has no dip in quality if selected for a few Championship games. Also looking forward to the PL 1st or 2nd choice. For me, Starsky has proved his top quality…
  15. According to some FTers…it might take 10 months instead of the expected 9 months
  16. Someone must pick out the other times he did the same in the last 3rd, wheere he suddenly turned up,then 1-2 times “ quickly” retired back. Chariots of fire would be a brilliant edit into those moments…
  17. What I find funny is since start of season. .posters try to force any issue and then creating agendas On predictions, and presumptions. AND on one of their own players. Its fking mad… Yesterday according to all scenarios, he held back some of the fastest forwards and the tide….of a PL squad team players…and burst through their own Backline 3-4 times…One match is never defining, but like Enzo whatever naysayers throw down, the challenges have been met and so far, answered and quite often defused and worries erased…. If He delivers such performances against 40% of the PLteams 40% average and decent..20% he’s bossed. He’s done his job.. sitting there waiting to mark down every slip up, that’s sick and a problem on the posters side.. Right of opinion accepted, but must be fair and balanced..
  18. While we are enjoying a London weekend, with prawn sandwiches. And that yet another Italian is going to upset a London-clubs peace Weekend of the 16 March Ipswich vs Shef.Wednesday Leeds vs. Milwall they will be fighting in the. Myre of trying to run us aground in our aspirations. Before then we play QPR…...home S‘lnd…..Away Hull…….Away Now it will be interesting what they both can muster upto this time… Leeds. Ipswich Huddersfield ..-A. Plymth……..A Stoke…………..….H. Bristol.cty…H Shef.We’d……….A. Cardiff………A In the wings Southampton, who will play…..Brum…PNE….& Sunderland “We go Again”. ,and start the quest this weekend to spoil ‘their’ aspirations
  19. Enzo has shown,he knows and sees, which players need time on the bench and motivating, with reselection… Not one single player from the squad has not been worth a 2nd 3rd or 4th look. of course some slip in form, but sofar Enzo‘s touch on every single player has been excellent, and FT from some corners still hasn’t understood the whole concept.. One should also get that Enzo and coaches are learning during their first steps. also the players being asked to jump on the train.
  20. All the plaudits deserved…No loans for next season Wanya sits well. Behind Mavididi has his cover, and with odd rotation. Some 60-70minute off the bench Cameos.. Enzo will see and work out his potential career steps. He actually gives Mcateer a leg up, Mcateer does not this or next season need to be rushed… And some fans should learn not to get on a players back or case. Mcateer has had several excellent performances, plus we have learnt that after the first injury,it takes awhile to refind rythm & Spark. Cynics can ruin a squads season… lay off in building up agendas and snidely cheap remarks…
  21. Well they will be really fked playing against our new CM Vestergaard, who last night burst through and past Cherries Backline 3-4 timeline a Danish knife through butter. And Fatawu training forr hitting that peach of a shot, now controlling and being now a master of it…Nacho at no8, 20k Leicester away fans.. Chelsea will be quite „chilled-well“ by the end of the game… Coventry-Leicester final still on..
  22. Good post.. But don’t get too critical or lose sight, the We will be on a tight financial budget, with some good loan players needed to be decided… Though Fatawu seems signed sealed & delivered, though not so cheap or bargains… Mavididi,Fatawu,Akgun…counter Madison,Mahrez wise skillsets buys. Fatawu is at the beginning just like Mahrez was,so no immediate comparison, but together those forementioned 3 with Winks,& KdH,have a better cohersion, than anything Rodgers spread, achieved in top consistency, albeit Championship level so far.
  23. I reckon the whole season so far..
  24. I would say since his first ever game in a first team shirt,he has had more good games, and through the seasons, where even in indifferent selection situations, he has peaked a few times to top performances… He has like all players had some poor games, that’s what also good above average player has…He’s a solid club player, with some sharp corners that have rounded out over the seasons ,with the occasional indifferent drops in performance. But saved the day moments, more often. Hes cleared off the line more than he has slipped up leading to a goal Hes put in more top defending tackles than most…He was always IMO underrated, He has played an AM role,an Holding midfield role and a DM role…When others were under performing,he may too have such instances…then again been solid where so called stars let us down… But overall he has given good service and never let us down…. And for one,I reckon it’s not negative when he plays on the cusp of a red card,he hasn’t yet got anywhwhere near some others actual high collection… I don’t even think he has received more than one ban….. Hard, sometimes wayward….but mostly on top… Deserves more credit than he often gets…. last night he and whole Backline were excellent…All back 5 ,on the 7-9 mark. he and Vesty even having periods but not whole match on the 10 mark..
  25. Can’t be bothered any longer to listen to the negative fans… We have done well so far..We are away and carved out some Excellent forward movement. Also defended well from all positions.. They have some usefull fring players…Just like ourselves..
