Losing when you've played poorly, especially when you know you should have been the better team will always hurt the most in sport. Especially in big games. Yesterday was the angriest I've been in a while. Banter about Dickson aside (who, look, there's a reason he wasn't chosen to ref a world cup quarter final to begin with, he's not really good enough) we were just poor. It was very disappointing. If we'd have played at the level we beat Fiji and Australia we'd have won that comfortably but we just weren't at the races. Respectfully, I thought Argentina were intensely average. But our discipline, execution and handling were extremely under par. Really shit way to go out. If we'd just been murdered by the All Blacks in the semi I'd be more philosophical about it but knowing our team should have done a lot better, ugh.

Next points definitely are. We defend this set, exit, regain a 2 score lead and I think we've won. But if that doesn't break their momentum at all I'll be extremely anxious.

Probably the defining characteristics of this team since Gats has been back has been conversion rate in the opposition 22 and absolutely minimal errors. This has been such a poor game on these fronts so far. Awful time to be this sloppy.

There's a lot more overlap with both Welsh and Argentine fans tbf between football and rugby fans. In Argentina and Wales it doesn't have the same class distinction that it does in England, Scotland and Ireland. Argentina's football and rugby fans are pretty much the same people and their football fans night be noisy but they're also often willy pullers This whole world cup they've been booing and whistling every kicker, every ref, everything. I mean it's definitely atmosphere but it's not, umm, conventional in rugby haha.
