Until the material is extracted, these companies are simply burning huge swathes of cash betting on the minerals being there, in quality and in quantity. There's a reason companies like this are so volatile as it's high risk/high reward. They could be sitting on a fortune, or it could all turn out to be worthless. They need to keep the hype high to keep the investments coming in and to continue exploration.
