Great post this. You’ll already know who is gonna be moaning and having a dig. It’s embarrassing and I don’t know what they’re trying to achieve. You just can’t win with them and no matter what they’ll go the opposite way. Don’t sign anyone. What’s going on. Sign players. Shit signing. Nothing is ever good enough, it’s like they can’t wait to just slate the club.

To be fair, back then the club were giving tickets away to anyone that worked there and it was easy to get them on general sale.

Yeah, fully understand and agree. You could be on 600 points but a season ticket holder on 50 away points gets same priority. I get it.

I remember the days my friend. Had to take your ticket stubs in didn’t you. But people were just letting friends borrow their stubs, taking them to get their P1 then giving them back to their mate.

I think the majority of kickback from people are from those that are 23 and under, and of course it’s not their fault they are that age - it’s just a natural thing most people older than that will have been going for longer and have more away points, especially under the current system. Certainly wouldn’t be against a new system, but it’s one of them where someone is always going to be unhappy and as mentioned by someone else, the club seem reluctant to change it because of lot of the people in the top bands are the demographic they’re after. A new system comes in and <insert name> who hasn’t missed many away games over a period of time complains. Not changing the system and you have what you currently have with people saying the current system is unfair. But you’re right the only moaning this season will be the lower allocation away ends and people not getting tickets. I was half hopeful that Notts County would be a bigger allocation as the lad was desperate to go so I had to wait and it sold out. Could’ve used a mates reference to get him one but I don’t think that’s fair and is one of the biggest issues, people are using their mates references still.

I honestly think with points that some games should have a greater incentive, they are generally that ones that most STH’s have a chance of getting a ticket to. Just as a pure example if you go to a midweek away game there should be some sort of bonus points given out or some sort of priority for the very next away game.

With the initial allocation just block 28&27 that’s left to be opened.
