Inject me with absurd hyberbole in that case! It’s a valid comparison imo. If Daka is better than Akinbiyi then it’s by the width of a wafer thin hair from Steve Agnew’s bald bonce.

Some time ago I did a comparison of the inflation adjusted finances involved in both deals and goals per game ratio and so on, and concluded Daka was worse. At least Akinbiyi got into good positions and fluffed his lines, but Daka doesn’t even do that really. He’s now at the point where more often than not he doesn’t even look like a footballer. He’s far too slight and looks like a gust of wind would knock him over. His smiley face and positive body language got him an extended stay of execution, but the outlay we’ve spent on him is just embarrassing and symbolises our downfall.

For me one of our worst ever signings in my life time. He’s on a par with Akinbiyi, if not worse.

He’s helped me out a few times over the years when others would not. Nice to have a competent person at the club, and we need more of them preferably in roles that relate to football matters.

I just see it as karma for us taking Alan Rogers off them in 2001 (?). What goes around, must come around but this time with more money involved. Come to think of it I think I have in the pay likened VK to Rogers in terms of how one dimensional he is, so am finding this deal all the more tantalising.

The decent Justin from 20-22 who got in the England set up should have been the best defender bar none in the Championship, but he has regressed to being average and terrible in the PL (first half of last season was a calamity). Injuries, form, whatever it is… this is a good sale. If he’s been on the verge of leaving why was he captain the other day? I always thought that was a joke, and perhaps Marti’s way of protesting? Drain the swamp!
