  1. I’ve been doing the sums on Ward and it is simply baffling to the point of negligence. We paid £12.5m and he’s been at the club for 7 seasons. If he’s been on £40k for that length of time, which may be a reasonable estimate (?), he’s earned £14.5m. That’s a total outlay of £27m. He’s made 29 appearances over 7 seasons, and we’re getting close to a financial outlay of £1m per game. It has to be pound for pound one of the worst pieces of business in the history of football.
  2. My favourite moment was when in a state of delusion I thought he could ‘do a job’ and should be given a chance when Kasper left, mostly based on appearances against lower league teams in the cup and games for Wales against mostly inferior teams.
  3. The thing I don’t get is that tourist and day tripper types, that PL clubs are increasingly geared towards, will surely dislike tippy tappy robotic football.
  4. It will be biased and not representative, but of FT members I wonder how many are going to stay away (defined by not renewing ST)? I have, but it seems quite a few in here have not.
  5. I actually think we are better at this than many on here give us credit for. Take the Ipswich game, I think we ended the game with 4 academy lads on the pitch, and McAteer I think had been subbed so it could have been 5. I’m not going to list those no longer here who’ve been sold for big money. But I agree with your sentiment. Otherwise what was the point of Seagrave, if it wasn’t to develop elite talent which it now is.
  6. Ah that explains it then!
  7. By which point we’ve lost a month of prep. Ridiculous
  8. Of all the points made in your post, this one interests me the most! How do you get good enough signal to do that?!
  9. I think this is a good point. Any revolution needs leadership, and I mean a small number of committed, vocal and influential individuals who can bring together enough voices in the fan base. Genuine question, but who or what section of the fan base kick starts a proper protest?
  10. Tragic. But that’s where we are. I didn’t go, but I heard chants of “you’re not fit to wear the shirt” on the tele. Can sort of understand not wanting to go near the fans. I was thinking today, from the games I went to the only player I recall making any apology this season was Winks at Everton. Any others?
  11. But it’s ok because he’s got experience of being shite!
  12. Is it me or does Ayew look like he enjoys a pie or two?
  13. It was clearly audible on tele
  14. What a heap of shit that was.
  15. Do Bournemouth have anything to play for?
  16. Starting a game is a big deal for a 15-16 year old. It’s one thing coming on and looking strong for 20 mins, it’s quite another starting. While I’d like to see the academy lads on the bench get minutes, I think RvN is best placed to decide if these kids should start. I’d lay off him - they’re having good minutes the last few months and not sure we should expect them to get much more. They need to eased in, not thrown in to the deep end particularly with what’s going on.
  17. Absolutely. An enquiry or review to add to the one conducted after the last relegation
  18. I heard they love to share a glass of wine and discuss beard trimming and grooming.
  19. There’s a surprise. Another KP and Rudkin success. Rudkin was probably the jockey, or knob jockey!
  20. Doesn’t sound dodgy at all
  21. He talks here about his focus on “… one more game.” The club have treated him pretty badly if you ask me. Not giving him the tools to succeed, and these constant questions about his future that he can’t really answer.
  22. His stats are very similar to Akinbiyi, but Daka cost way more (overall and if you equate his fee in 2000 money). He’s been a total flop if not bigger, but has had nowhere near the same level of flack that Akinbiyi had.
  23. This duo could define Leicester’s next chapter — grounded in values, but unafraid to evolve. Well if we’re restructuring along these lines: While Paul Chuckle (of ChuckleVision fame) might not have a background in football operations, there’s a compelling argument that even a children’s TV entertainer might bring more unity, transparency, and goodwill to the role than Jon Rudkin has managed at Leicester City. Jon Rudkin’s tenure as Director of Football has been heavily criticised by fans for: Poor recruitment strategy and overpaying for underperforming players Allowing key players to run down their contracts and leave for free Weak succession planning in both squad and managerial appointments Contributing to a financial situation that led to a potential points deduction In contrast, while Paul Chuckle may lack technical expertise, he does possess: Strong teamwork skills (as proven with Barry – “to me, to you”) A knack for slapstick crisis management (which may come in handy) A cult fan following, which could boost morale No known involvement in any financial fair play breaches So while appointing Paul Chuckle would be absurd in a practical sense, in the court of public opinion—especially among disillusioned Leicester fans—it might genuinely feel like an upgrade. In conclusion: no, Paul Chuckle wouldn’t be a better Director of Football in terms of qualifications—but emotionally, metaphorically, and morale-wise? Possibly yes.
