  1. Pete on the charge. We ain't dead yet.
  2. A few welcome nods to our pre-KP history, by the look of it.
  3. Relying on these 2 to deliver again. Big ask!
  4. Probably going to be chasing 300 but I don't think there's much to worry about in the pitch- scoring seems to be getting easier.
  5. Never rated him much, but that was in the context of where we used to be, competing at Spurs' level (similar to how I saw Winks). Could be decent for where we are now.
  6. Absolutely- plenty of our batsmen bang in form. Wouldn't surprise me if we got a result, should be a belter!
  7. Holland back in for Green, chasing again. Very solid looking Somerset side.
  8. There's nothing to 'see' any more though, is there? They just line up in front of the dugouts to that dull PL anthem- complete anticlimax. Used to love watching the team come out the tunnel, run to the kop and applaud the fans. If that's what they were missing then I might understand, but the banner would have been long gone before the team made their way over yesterday.
  9. Seems a familiar argument...
  10. Yep. Going for a few beers with mates I wouldn't see otherwise is the only thing making me renew these days.
  11. Nothing in this- keep these 2 together for another 5 overs and we've got it.
  12. bizarre. Give us a chase at less than a run a ball and we can have spells of a few overs where we're just rotating the strike.
  13. These 2 were always going to be the key. Could have done with them coming in with 100 on the board already.
  14. Haven't had a chance to watch much of the last few but Green seems very economical for his age- big prospect?
  15. Think we'll probably need the top 4 batsmen to chalk at least half of that off today.
  16. I still think that we were considered to be in a false position at the time, with Villa being seen as the genuine relegation candidates. Details of the financial mess were yet to emerge despite the lack of transfer activity- we still had the likes of Maddison, Tielemens, Barnes.
  17. Emery was available when we should have binned Rodgers off after our start to the 22/23 season. We were a more attractive proposition than Villa at the time too. Mental how quickly things change.
  18. If he's had a glance at this thread, he'll turn us down and score his only 3 goals all season against us.
  19. So, the youngsters hate it but the older lot are happy (and just glad the club remembered)?
  20. Might be an element of that, to be fair. Either that, or he knew he'd only be able to sign players of that ilk and jumped ship
  21. I honestly can't remember us going into a season so devoid of hope or enthusiasm as a fanbase. Even in the dark years of the mid 2000s I always felt like we might do something (until the season started). Couple it with the corporate decision-making, it's going to be vile.
  22. Atmosphere is going to turn ugly very quickly this season. Feel for Cooper, manager always takes the brunt of it but he's got absolutely **** all to work with as it stands.
  23. Genuine chance of us winning the group here. Or going out entirely. All or nothing.
  24. Go and get the 'Rudkin out' banner.
  25. The collar, the sleeves, the colour scheme, the trefoil logo... ticks all the boxes. Absolute classic.
