  1. Same dross from this manager. It doesn’t matter who they play if the tempo is slow and the passes side to side and backwards. Same tactics and mistakes. Same Thomas long throw to the first defender at head height. Boring, no overlaps and passing into space.
  2. And all he will need is a pre season and his own players. Give him 10 games, till international, till Christmas, Jan transfer. The cope from fans shift constantly but sometimes you can just see if a manager is shit. My measurement to right off the manager is if they start Soumare for more than 2 games in a row.
  3. And more importantly have a team and system in place to help the younger players understand their mistakes and learn from them, instead of glossing over and letting them repeat it every game.
  4. He is way more dynamic but the tactics were the same as the dross that they play every week, getting the same results. That's coming from the management and what JV has imprinted onto them. I like him and want him to do well here. My point was that playing him like JV and the same possession for the sake of it tactics, he is just a quicker JV. He made some good cross field passes to the wingers, that all stopped after the first goal and normal service resumed. He made some good attempts to drive forwards but the CB doesn't need to be doing that if they passed a lot quicker. The games he looked the best was when he was next to JV and they played it quick out the back to Skipp and JJ to get the attacks moving. He will be a really good footballer at a stable club with a manager and coaches that are able to manage and motivate.
  5. You can see that when he goes to do something quickly, he stalls and then everything takes even longer. This is all over the pitch. Players avoiding the basics and simple options to play a certain way which isn't their strength. Weak leaders can't see the flaws and strengths of the team and themselves. It feels like the American corporate mindset of just get it done with the added Thai culture of never questioning someone higher than you or admitting mistakes for fear of losing face. We all see the same mistakes every week for the past 2 seasons, yet the coaches and players repeat them, even bringing in new players to continue with the rot. I remember all those years ago in a short doc, Matty James with an iPad showing him all the clips of the things he did bad and good and what to work on.
  6. Sadly those two, Mav and Fatawu have all been infested by the rot around them. It seemed so easy for Nelson to just carry on playing like JV, when previously what's impressed is his solid, no messing around defending and quick pass out to Skipp or JJ. A new coach is needed to drill some purpose, accountability and actual positive tactics into them.
  7. A lot of the problems would be fixed with simple coaching, yet we repeat them over and over. He seems caught in two minds with what to do, he is too slow in deciding to throw out to a start a quick counter, then the players stop making those runs as the defence has to control everything. The defence invite the press, and then pass back to him so he now has to react quickly with a forward pressing him, all because JV or the other clowns mess about with the ball. Rinse repeat.
  8. I was excited to see him play without JV, turns out he is just a quicker JV. He played in the exact style, slow, boring sideways and backwards, walking football to the halfway line and even doing the stupid JV roll with the ball at the last second after you wait to be pressed rather than pass quickly, We got exactly the same result and performance. So many times they will send it side to side slowly for Ricard and Thomas to not even bother looking forwards, ignoring the wingers first time to then attempt a slow loft to the winger close to the edge of the pitch. The club needs to stop this rot and style of play out of the back. Once JV is gone and we have a manager with a clue things may change. It wasn't good to see someone who we have high hopes for slot into this mess so easily and continuing the rot. Hopefully the young players can drop these bad habits with a better coach or even club to guide them.
  9. He can throw it flat at head height to the first defender. His throws is the equivalent of an Ayew set piece, you know what will happen and nothing ever comes from it. All our play is negative and slow. No one can ever take a quick throw in, we wait and then just give it away or it gets sent all the way back for nothing. Ricardo and Thomas play exactly the same, both boring and not very good but Ricardo is due to age and injuries.
  10. Enzo drilled that into KDH and even Ndidi, now our wingers are too lazy to move. JJ is trying to make it happen but Abdul is always so static. That Algerian goal was well worked with players knowing what to do. The first goal against Watford had players around the box in space, passing quickly dare I say playing like a team, then they stopped making an effort.
  11. He looks exactly like how he played in every game for us going back to Arsenal away where even Cooper knew he was a dud. How a modern day centre back can be so scared and unable to decide what to do with the ball. Also how can so many managers and coaches not able to do something about it. It doesn't matter the length of the pass, it's always at the slow pace to where the player has already left. It also didn't help that the players around him kept putting him in the situation expecting something different. Much like Skipp every time he got the ball outside the oppositions box with his back to goal, caused more problems for us than the opposition. The manager and players repeating the same mistakes and not playing to strengths. It was clear in the comments on here before the match that he shouldn't be involved in any forward passes. He had about 8 warning signs before the mess up. Ricardo sent the ball twice back instantly to allow him to mess up. This team get undone by their own mistakes. The manager allows them to do it.
  12. We should have several drilled in tactics to get the best out of Fatawu, Mav, Monga, JJ and Reid. Pass and move into space. We only did this once with Monga and Thomas. Marti has allowed him to hit a glass ceiling and keep repeating his mistakes rather then develop his strengths.
  13. He’s just as boring and useless as Thomas. His legs I can understand but something seems to be stopping him from even trying. It’s all sideways and backwards even when in an attacking position.
  14. Abdul had two chances to just run forward into space yet he stops and passes back to Okoli.
  15. Then problem I find with Mav is that he isn’t a team player. He’s too greedy but not good enough for what he wants to do, when the basics would’ve worked and increase his numbers. We don’t have enough goals and quality to wait for those moments of magic from him and Abdul.
  16. Did Okoli have a system reboot then. How can we have so many brain dead players.
  17. They could try doing everything a touch quicker and not wait until they are pressed. It’s the unnecessary risk they put themselves under. The full backs are never going to carry the ball so that’s not an option.
  18. By the time the wingers finally get the ball on the half way line with their backs to goal, they are marked. Then they have to decide to pass the ball and run into space or try and take everyone on themselves. there seems to be zero tactics or plan other than Nelson playing like a quicker JV.
  19. When Okoli is on the ball you hear the windows shut down sound. The Okoli to Ricardo pass has been useless all game. Ricardo just sends the ball backwards after he receives a slow pass. Repeat until mess up.
  20. He can’t seem to pass the ball while moving. He has to stand still, stutter and pass with little power.
  21. Slow and turgid football. The pass to the wingers is always so deep from the fullbacks. Backs to feet with their back to goal and then no support. Both are pretty lazy and actively run into space to get the ball. These are things a manager with a clue would fix.
  22. We always seem to take an age to throw in as well. Ricardo takes forever and it ends up getting sent back into our half. .
  23. He usually drops deep or drifts into Mavs space and avoids being a strikers. between them you barely get a pass to a team mate or a quick cross. If the clown insists on playing him, he needs to goal hang and not involved in any buildup play. Hopefully Nelson won’t be doing a JV impression like last week. No walking to the halfway line and blasting the bal for Ayew to not control. We need him to be quick out the back so Ricardo can receive the ball further up quicker so he won’t get pressed as much.
  24. As opposed to playing Ayew. What outcome do you think would be different?
  25. And let Nelson do all the passing quickly out the back.
