  1. Yet we do have alternatives to Ayew. We know what he will do on the pitch and the impact he has to attacks. It’s in the manager to stop him doing those things which hinder the team. A weak manager with zero ideas is letting the players repeat this week in week out. Playing Ayew for 90 mins every game only to drop him further back to offer even less support. Sticking with a known known that peaked several years ago and getting the same results instead of risking a known unknown youngster.
  2. It’s just so boring to see Ayew playing. We all know what will happen. Good passages of play only happen when he is bypassed. Not sure why the manager thinks it’s good for the team having a player lead the line that wants to dive, ignore his team mates and argue with a ref because they saw him cheat.
  3. His control with the outside of his foot was unbelievable. That and Madison pinging balls across the pitch into space for Barnes with the outside of his boot were great to see. Now we get JV blasting the ball into a crowded area for Ayew to not control and cause a counter attack.
  4. It looks effortless when players know what they are doing. I'm just jealous of any team that passes into space and the winger runs into it.
  5. I would like to see this line up, the dross removed from the back and up front. Begovic isn't scared to pass the ball quickly, unlike Jakob so that's a plus. Ayew is great for breaking up play, shame it's always an attack and arguing with the ref because they didn't fall for his cheating. From what I've seen all season, other than 2 halves of two games, it doesn't matter who they play, they don't play as a team due to the management, lack of tactics and defined roles. Mavadidi needs to start realising he plays in a team and he is allowed to pass to someone ahead of him. The same with Fatawu, what's the point of JJ busting a gut to get the team up the pitch if the wingers won't rarely bother to run into the space he has created to receive a pass, forcing him to go sideways or back. His numbers would be even better if he consistantly did the simple things that he can do so well, then add the flair on top, rather than the other way round. The same for Monga but he hasn't had a good professional manager guiding him yet. He should probably hire Albrighton for some private coaching. We need a massive upgrade on attitude at the end of the season, either from the players already having it like JJ or a manager to drill into them purpose.
  6. I think he would only care if it’s in the Bangkok Post.
  7. A 1-2 between fullback and winger or Ayew to pass instead of diving would be a start.
  8. I’m sure he has learned a lot from being around the skill and vision of Mav, the finesse and team first attitude of Ayew and utilising the tactics from Marti and his team.
  9. Sadly there is no difference between any of those 4 now. 3 of them are a known know but this season Ricardo after he scored in those two games, has looked sad, slow and boring.
  10. This is such a simple tactic that every team we face uses. If only our wingers and full back could study how to pass and move. Thomas never seems to offer anything in attack or defence. JV bend out of position a lot of the time doesn’t help anyone. The defence has a habit of backing off and allowing the opposition to pass/shoot rather than trying to make a tackle/block or put them off. Playing a high line with players that are slow, back off and can’t tackle doesn’t help.
  11. Along with a manager that had actual tactics for a winger and full back to do in a match. Step overs are great but maybe Marti and his team will learn about a new thing in football called passing the ball into space for the winger to run into, the advanced technique is to carry on running forwards with the ball.
  12. Enzo turned Ndidi into an assist machine and focused all the energy KDH had to driving and passing into space. JJ is that version but no one else is on the same wave length and set plays aren’t drilled in. Marti is like a Sunday dad giving the kids McDonalds and haribo so they like him. His tactics are like my dad, failed to show up. The wingers need discipline and purpose. The skills are to get them out of tricky spot yet they seemed to be focused on that rather than working as a team. Fatawu has shown that he is really good when he runs with the ball in space and gets a cross in the box quickly. We get battered by lower league full backs and wingers yet ours get a nosebleed if they had to face forwards. It’s sad how Ricardo is now as he was always one of my favourite players. There was a point yesterday where he got the ball from Fatawu in the edge of the box, no pressure so could’ve lined up a good cross. He just stood still like my dog looking at his empty bowl, then he sent it sideways and it broke down. Any manager should be able to get simple attacking plays out of JJ, Reid, Ricardo and Fatawu that would rip open defences. Yet when it looks like it will happen someone will always slow it down.
  13. He doesn’t need to turn them into those type of players, he needs to stop them trying to be them and play to their strengths.
  14. This excuse that keeps getting rolled out. This is on the manager. He has to change the faults in the player. Get him to stop making the same mistakes and drill a solid tactic into them. The JV pass to whoever is the striker in a crowded area, after they are sitting back and our team is really high up. How many times has it worked and how many times has it caused a counter. How many times had JV ignored a quick pass only to make a run himself and lose it high up the pitch. The slowest, tallest and weakest player we have can drift out of position and lose it so often. How many times has Ayew held onto the ball and ignored players and maybe pass once the momentum is over. Marti is watching Ricardo and Thomas pass backwards. If they pass forwards it’s from too deep and they usually stand still, there is no instinct for them to overlap and provide support. If someone actually does the wingers then are greedy and won’t pass. This is all down to the manager letting the behaviour on the pitch happen.
  15. Skipp looks so much better when it’s flowing quickly out of the back and we aren’t inviting the pressure. The JV led control, press and eventual chaos he looks poor again like yesterday.
  16. Yep, he does his role really really well when allowed to. Get the ball deep and drive forwards, making space for others and arriving in the box. Fatawu isn’t on the same wavelength as him. They drift too close to each other but Dayawu doesn’t make runs into the space. He’s so good at running and crossing quickly yet it seems like he avoided it to try and skin players while standing still. Fatawu and Mav need someone to drill the roles into them. They make so many poor choices constantly that they didn’t do under Enzo. Thomas and Ricardo add little to nothing because it’s all about getting the ball back to JV so he can drift out of position and pass into the middle.
  17. And Monga ends up playing like Ayew and Mav while Nelson yesterday played exactly like JV. Slow, boring, inviting the press just to pass to someone else and send the pressure on. He is a crap manager with crap tactics. All our players look worse under him due to no locked in style and discipline. either he hasn’t got a clue tactically and/or the players don’t listen to him. Either way it’s bad. He is allowing JV the power to slow the game down and keep passing to Ayew in the middle. It hasn’t worked all season. He’s allowing JV to invite the press and create the chaos when he messes up. He’s allowing Mav to be boring and greedy. A winger who won’t pass to the player who has got ahead of him into space. He’s allowing Ayew to stink out everything he touches. He isn’t fixing these things which would make us less shit. Fatawu’s wonder goal aside he was poor last week and yesterday. He won’t run into spaces JJ created for him and has a terrible short pass. Ricardo is playing like prime Luke Thomas, so sad. Skipp is better when everything is flowing quickly, when it’s JV led sideways and back pass tempo he has looked poor again under the press. our players can play better, under a better system which drills them with a role as a team
  18. 1.2 goals per game in his two seasons
  19. They constantly back off and let the attackers pass. We are too long to attack and send it backwards.
  20. QPR are playing how we believe our team are capable of if we had a manager that had a clue. sack off the slow passing backwards constantly and the wingers actually run into space to cross the ball, instead of being greedy and lazy.
  21. Sadly it doesn’t matter which side they target. There is no difference between Ricardo and Thomas in defence and attack.
  22. Mav isn’t good enough to be this greedy. Pass first time to your team mate ahead in space.
  23. Sack these Thomas long throws off, throw quickly and cross it in. Ricardo is boring and slow now. Sad to see.
  24. Slow backwards football that invites the press against another team that actually presses. Blasting the ball to Ayew in the middle has caused us more problems than positives all season, so let’s keep trying it. A good manager and technical team would fix these problems.
  25. That relies on Ayew not being Ayew though. Get him to goal hang, look for scraps and not be involved in any build play. He scored because he hadn’t dropped deep and held onto the ball for too long, he was in the box. More like that is needed from him. Don’t play him all game like Marti has and then drop him deeper, he becomes more lazy and ineffectual as the game goes on.
