Has Mav gone on strike. Just standing still and passing backwards twice in a row when he could’ve moved into space and made an effort. -

So saturdays tempo, style and tactics was a just a massive fluke. -

No one in this team can press properly, they all stop about a metre away and let them pass, yet we get pressed and cause mistakes. -

Fatawu need a break, reality check and a manager to drill tactics into him. Good pass to JJ who drives and then holds it up, Fatawu stands still behind him instead of running into space ahead to help his team mate out. -

They can’t help themselves. Get rid of JV and this team will improve instantly. I preferred Jakob kicking the ball out every time than passing to JV and Hamza. -

It’s like the defence can’t wait to get back to the usual style that has failed and caused the problems every game, apart from the first half last week. -

I’m not getting my hopes up. I expect nothing more than pissing about and passing backwards. We can only hope Marti has clocked that the slow, negative football isn’t working. -

Hopefully the defence don’t slip back into walking football to the halfway line and passing backwards. If they play like the first half last week the things might have clicked, if they play like every other game then they all can get in the bin. -

He also won’t pass the ball. I wasn’t impressed by his decision making at all. All our wingers are greedy and poor choices. When Monga is flowing its effortless, we need that at the start of the game to try and get the EFL cloggers booked. To me, our wingers sadly look like they have hit a glass ceiling because of the lack of actual tactics. Too much focus on trying to skin when the ball into space has cut out that need and put the on the front foot quicker. -

more of the first half style of play and not the second. They need to keep attacking, forcing their defence to get carded, rather than half of our team as they are being put under pressure. Let’s see if JV tries to take over and control the tempo and passing out from the back. walking to the halfway line and smashing the ball to a forward who can’t control it might finally work 20 games in. If they do and they let JV take over then they all deserve to get in the bin, starting with Marti and JV. -
He seemed to play better when JV isn’t dictating the tempo, inviting the press and creating chaos. Get rid of JV or his need for control and those around him have better games.

We have no reason to not play like the first half again and no reason to play as negative as the second. The first half was great, showing what they can do. The tempo and dynamic kept changing when JV tried to take over the goal kicks or called for the backwards pass from Nelson. We don’t need to play the same tactic of walking to the halfway line and smashing the ball for Ayew/Daka to not control. It hasn’t worked once. We looked great when running with the ball and passing to a player in space, simple. Poor in game management from Marti. He left Ayew on for way too long. He could’ve be bothered to chase even when he was the closest to a player. At one point he floated to the left wing and challenged Mav for a header. Silko can run with the ball well but has poor decision making, a player is in space calling for it so that pass the thing. Maybe it was nerves/adrenaline that got the better of him. More of the same going forwards. fast, direct and playing as a team.
-
One of Mavs worst traits and would be stamped by a half decent manager. He plays too much like Ayew in this sense, greedy and would rather fail than let anyone else do it. They should be working on those passages of play so Mav can get the ball on the edge or get in the box and let Thomas worry about the cross. It worked so they should repeat it. Unlike the JV slow pass to Ayew/Daka with his back to goal that never works.
-
I think it’s more frustrating seeing him play like this, he is obviously capable of doing things that progress the team. So why not play like this and make better decisions more often. Yesterday should be the basics and standard for every game he plays. If not he can get back in the bin. Hopefully he feels some sense of pride in his job and gained a new desire. He did slip into the sideways and back mode once JV tried to take over the tempo of the game to make it about himself. Get rid of him or his control over the tempo and we play like the first half every game, that lifted players like Skipp and Thomas out of the muck. Sadly Ricardo appears to be stuck.
-
While it was annoying it was the safer option. As soon as JV wanted control out the back the tempo swung in Derbys favour and it became messy.
-
Incredible scenes today that we haven’t seen for a while. Mav passing to a player that offered support, Thomas offering support and whipping in some quality crosses first time. We need to see more of this team work. Like most of the team, they look so much better playing forwards with purpose than knocking it backwards.
-
First half was brilliant attack wise. second half was stinky all over. Poor in game management from Marti. He allowed tired players to get away with not making any effort and let the defence take over with their slow “control” yet causing more issues. It’s sad to see Ricardo being so poor in defender and boring in attack. We really need an attacking coach to get these players to make better and quicker decisions. Really good turn around from Skipp. When playing with tempo they all make way less mistakes and unforced errors. JJ and Skipp had such a high level of effort and impact today.
-
The thing that worked well first half. poor game management from a poor manager.
-
Ayew not even bothering to chase. Get the clown off. Now isn’t the time for greedy players and the idiots thinking controlling at the back and inviting pressure in the answers. We need energy
-
Bangladesh number 1 coming on to add more backward passes. His fan club will be happy.
-
Ricardo is so boring now along with making poor passes. The defence are brain dead most of the time. JV dictating the tempo again and making it about him.
-
The JV stink out and pass to Ayew might work if we try it 20 more times. Nelson will be a much better player if he takes control and doesn’t pass it to the clown next to him.
-
The ball out of the back quickly and players moving is making such a difference. As soon as the passing backwards or JV doing what he does best, the tempo and energy switches back to Derby briefly. Mav passing to Thomas and him actually being brave to cross is making a big difference. We look really good when at pace, but still lazy and without application when they try and control it backwards.
-
Not sure which is slower, Ayews press or JV chasing a counter attack.
-
And he always seems to be in an area he doesn’t need to, and gets caught out trying whatever he’s doing
