  1. That could be my nieces cat
  2. I don’t know about that. Especially with it being watered down. I just don’t understand some peoples assumptions that it will be bad. We already have the infrastructure in place. Most of the stadiums are state of the art. Each host city (in the US) has experience hosting huge events that attract people from all over the country. Plus, each represented country will have a fairly large fan base already living within the US, so excitement levels should be huge. Just seems to me like this should be a great event.
  3. I agree about Qatar/Saudi btw MLS stadiums wouldn’t be better, as the majority hold less than 50k. Most cities will have transit - including free shuttles from hotel to the stadiums. I know Arlington (Cowboy Stadium) is in the heart of the city, and has what you’re looking for in terms of a city center to meet, eat and have drinks. I imagine the other cities also have similar set ups- after all, it would make sense since they host 75-80k every Sunday during NFL season. You are correct though. Games are being held all over the country. A country to big to simply hop in a car and drive around in. So costs will be higher depending on where you see games. We do have discount airlines - Southwest used to be $49 to fly anywhere in US. Not sure what the costs are nowadays. I live in N Texas and will attend Cowboy Stadium - 30minutes from my house. I’ll also go to Houston, which is a nice 4hour drive. The others, I’m undecided on.
  4. Horrible horrible place to work.
  5. It’s strange to me not to have pride in your country - just as it’s strange to some of you to have pride. In the US we are taught it at an early age. American history. Pledge of Allegiance. July 4th. It’s what we were taught and we just assumed that’s how every country thought about themselves. To me there’s nothing wrong with it.
  6. Im guessing you think it should only be held in Europe? ooh, then it could be renamed to something like….The Euros! smh
  7. Serious question- what is The Daily Mail supposed to be? Is it a tabloid (made us news stories like “Aliens stole my dog”) or are they supposed to be legit news?
  8. This has to be some kind of joke? Look, there’s an easy solution for you - just stay home. We won’t miss you one bit.
  9. How do you get people who feel like they are barely surviving, to make sacrifices though? I know one thing that doesn’t help. Where the message is coming from. As an average middle class American, last thing I want is some rich out of touch celebrity fresh off their private jet/yacht to talk to me about conservation. I don’t want a politician who pretends to be for the working class, yet can’t find the money to help starving/homeless Americans but can find 200billion for Ukraine or the newest nuclear weapon. I don’t know what the answer is for getting the message out, but the current way certainly ain’t it.
  10. I agree. But at the same time I can understand the reasons behind the environment not being a priority for SOME (not all) people.
  11. Unfortunately elections are rarely that simple where it comes down to just one issue. Would be great if the only difference was their outlook on the environment. Then it would be an easy choice. But it’s not. It comes down to what’s important to each individual voter - yes environmental issues affect everyone, but for some - they’re not thinking about tomorrow when they can’t even feed their children today.
  12. Huh? Cant speak for everywhere but the game at Cowboy Stadium and the one in Houston - no they are not away from cities. Yes it will be hot outside, but they’re domed and the AC works great. It will be expensive, and I promise not to shoot you……others on here though….
  13. Lol not looking for like minded individuals. Nothing wrong with healthy debate - when it doesn’t include taking potshots at someone because of where they were born.
  14. Ehh, if you actually followed the trial you’d know the conviction will be overturned. It wasn’t about them actually jailing Trump, it was about them having the label “felon” hanging around his neck during the election. Oh, and I do believe we have the largest arsenals in the world.
  15. We’re talking about someone who could come in on short notice and overcome the momentum Trump has built up. Now do I think there was a better option last year when the campaigning started? Yes. Absolutely. Currently the big standout is Gavin Newsom out of California. However, I don’t know how he would overcome the stigma of over the top taxes and the rep of being way too soft on crime and illegal immigration in such a short period of time - especially when those were the issues hurting Biden before the debate.
  16. There’s the problem. They don’t have anyone very compelling to replace him with.
  17. Nah - nobody wants to give up that type of power
  18. Lots and lots of people should lose their jobs over this. Starting with the director of the Secret Service.
  19. Probably a very smart move https://www.texastribune.org/2024/07/14/biden-reschedules-austin-texas-visit/
  20. It’s so we can protect ourselves when the British try to invade
  21. Completely understandable When I took my daughter out, first it was an abandoned parking lot. Then when I thought she was ready for streets, we did it late at night to avoid other care for her to run into
  22. I tried and turned it off after 30 minutes.
  23. Forgive the ignorance, but it may be different here in the US Are you not allowed to provide the driving instructions? For my daughter, she had to do classroom time but I taught her the actual driving - I didn’t want to, but she put it off so long that the school I paid would no longer take her driving. All I had to do was fill out a form at the DPS (driver license place) attesting to the fact that I spent x number of hours driving with her.
  24. Really? So if it came down to being forced to start and play one name every game - which would it be, Daka or Danny Ward?
