I think it comes down to when we have to submit a business plan that evidences how we will comply with the spending rules. I can't remember if that's to evidence that we have complied for 2024/25 that won't be due for submission until the end of this calendar year or for the forthcoming 2025/26. I think there's a chance they'll put us under one, if not this summer then by the winter window.

Yeah they're a team worth keeping an eye on, they are a great conveyor belt from all around the world to potential top 5 European league level players.

Keen to see if he has recovered from his serious injury.

Those getting all misty eyed about Claude might be fighting that Eduardo Macia had a major hand in the recruitment, in particular the excellent window in the summer of 2018.

It was very tough and it felt for me that it was so difficult to recover from the hills and then benefit from when it levelled out or even went downhill. Can't say I enjoyed it one bit haha -

@Houdini Logic that was fcukin horrible hahahahahahaaa I'm in bits -
Don't think Luke Thomas's decline has anything to do with him being thrown in too early. He's mirrored pretty much the entire LCFC squad of players that have been here from 2021/22 onwards.

Brilliant stuff -
I mean Man City have given 4-5 new academy players 1st team minutes this season vs us who's given Chris Popov a few minutes. That's before we get on to academy players as bit more established where we've been just as atrocious. Will never ever forget Cooper favouring Hamza Choudhury in the 10 role and 3 defensive midfielders chosen vs Palermo over giving Will Alves a chance in pre-season.

Build a defence around him next season and alleviate us from this mental slavery of the class of 2024/25. -

As far as I'm concerned our season is over, will barely even register the rest of the games we have. We're nothing. The only interest left is for Alves, Nelson, Cover and hopefully Wilson-Brown. -
If he had to leave us, if wish he'd agree to go to Barca or Dortmund as he'd a) retain that freedom and b) we'd keep him until 18 😂

This this and this. Whilst I'm very angry as my number one passion for Leicester is to see us have the best academy and player progression in the country, I can see why players would leave our academy for bigger clubs. We don't give them the one thing those clubs might not which is first team football as a number one priority. We need to learn from this last couple of years.

This is it, we are an absolute mess right now.

Should be a pre requisite that starts with the club culture and strategy from Top, Rudkin, Whelan et all. Any prospective manager has to have it as one of their main priorities. -

Of course, we simply have to offer both. But the wages won't keep them on their own either, it will help but we need to play some of them and prove it's a major priority of ours. Otherwise I don't blame them for fcukin off. -
The natural promotion to the role of DOF is from head of recruitment. We've lost a few excellent ones who moved elsewhere to step in to such a role. I'd be looking at such candidates from data driven clubs like RB Salzburg, Reims, Brest, Sturm Graz, Eintract Frankfurt, Copenhagen, Midtjylland etc and give them the opportunity to run a club not just in regard to transfers.

All the club can be blamed for is not bringing through academy players and giving them a chance in the first team earlier. We might well be scrabbling to try and get better at that to prevent this but we need to actually do it and maybe some of them will stick around. -

This is how the likes of Man City and Man Utd are taking 15-16 year olds from academies the same size as them. Offering them the wages of £20-40k a week apparently. The issue for us is we haven't even shown what the pathway is for these talents previously. We've never given an academy player under the age of 18 regular first team football, even to the modest degree that Nyoni has had at Liverpool that you quote. So until we do that, then i can't agree there's nothing more we can do to hold on to these talents. The club will point to how Monga and Evans are being immersed in the squad in training and travelling etc but we almost have to go over the top right now to erase the past which may be preceding us and losing these players. -

The thing is money is being thrown at him. Probably going to be a millionaire at 16. We need to prove to him he'll get very well remunerated here to a similar level in time and that he'll also get first team football and progression more rapidly here than at any of the bigger clubs that are preying. The issue is in the past that has not been the case, Nyoni's probably had morw 1st team football at Liverpool than wed have given him and we need to be honest as well as sorting out what should be our priority. -

OK, look at it another way. How much would you value Monga's potential, i.e how much would we say would be a fair amount to sell him for?
