Pretty sure via their agents they have said they want a new challenge.

One of the best posts I've ever read on here. Bang on

Probably be £18m up front and £5m in add ons.

Happens multiple times every summer. Players that want out are often left out of pre-season tours and agreements between club and player that whilst they focus on a move away they won't be considered. Often deals don't materialise and they come back in to the fold. Ndidi, Faes, Soumare and even Ricardo have said they want out this summer. There's others with less than a year to go that we can be bullish with as we need to get serious with sorting out the financial strain at this club. We won't do though, will ask for unrealistic fees for many of them and they'll walk for free next summer with their performances levels falling off the closer to the 2nd half of the season as we've seen multiple times here in recent years.
-
The fee Petrovic has gone for is a fair comparator. Maybe £5m less up front as we aren't in as strong negotiating position but with add ons and a % sell on should be up to £25m.
-
It's not about freezing them out per se but we are well within our rights to say to any player that has expressed the desire to leave that they are to focus on that and won't be considered part of the starting eleven unless they don't get a move. That's what Enzo did and it was no issue. A couple of players ending up staying and working their way in to the team as well (Daka and Praet)
-
It might actually be 3rd choice signing. Not many clubs only have two recognised senior keepers and I don't think any of the academy keepers are ready yet to be considered.
-
I'd want some very decent add ons and future % included which we always seem to agree to when purchasing but never when selling.
-
Was phenomenal away at Newcastle as well until he went off at half time and then brioche fingers came on.
-
He's as quick/if not quicker than Mahrez but physically stronger and similar maverick skill set. I'm not concerned he isn't a pace merchant ala Fatawu/Mavididi
-
Alex Crook said it was a year.
-
I would not be surprised if we got Deniz Gül on loan (possibly with an option/obligation) from Porto. Worked under Cifuentes at Hammarby who he brought through the academy. 6ft 3 and the type of striker we don't currently have.

I think Aluko is ready to start, I really do. Mainly because of Cifuentes system where the full backs break the lines centrally as the 8's push up and the wingers stay wide. He is the best athlete in this squad (Page also very good in that regard) and I can see him being integral in us hurting opposition.

AND IIIIIIIIIII WILL ALVES LOVE YOUUUUUUUU
-
Yes he was/is. Last season despite the prowess of Monga and Evans from winning the U16 league to what they did with the U21s, the only player being called up to England U17s (Monga was still only being picked by U16s and Evans not selected at all) was Page. He was picked for this summers tournament too. Massive talent. Is a box to box midfielder but equally competent as a 10 or even deeper.

Often the way, don't think it would make much difference to the interested parties. -
Page and Aluko look class to me. Just need the experienced players around them to deliver too and not continue the malaise or lack of motivation they've been complicit in.
-
Agree on all of that. My comments are a little tongue in cheek but there's also an element of accuracy in terms of what we have been accustomed to in terms of talent and where we've declined. Monga is the closest, arguably maybe even better than what we've ever seen bar Mahrez.
-
I am not exaggerating when I say he is the single last reason why any of us are still supporting this football club. Take the excitement of Monga away and there's absolutely nothing decent about this football club in it's current state. I know we wouldn't walk away, we endured some horrendous years but he and a handful of others coming through the academy are at least temporarily a ray of sunshine. Will be a joy to watch him next season.

The groundhog of the summer of 2022 continues. #AsmirSmithies

Alves often thrives in more space afforded to wingers. I still think his best position is at LW in a system that let's him drift centrally. In a fluid 3 behind the striker with Monga and Fatawu (Mavididi potentially as the 9) could be ideal for him.
-
How's Aluko done? Just tuning in for the 2nd half.
-
Both players I really rate and have suggested before. Baffling Esposito has remained in Serie B. He's the complete midfielder.
