I would be content with Thomas, Aluko, Choudhury and Ricardo. Especially is Jayden Joseph sticks around too.
-
It's the potential that makes this signing tempting. You just don't know how good he could become given the significant gains he's already made from absolutely nowhere. £5m if that's what he'll cost is only half the profit we made on Tom Cannon.
-
I did try to warn you.....
-
Probably need to move fast messrs Rudkin on this.
-
Will be just our luck if a load of the full backs we need to move on this summer get medium to long term injuries.
-
Soumare and Choudhury to a degree have a natural tendency to switch off. Whether it's an effort thing or concentration, it does not come naturally to them to maintain the intensity game in, game out. We've seen with Soumare that he can do it for short spells, sometimes stretching several games and often under new managers or when given a chance from out in the wilderness but rest assured it cannot be maintained for long enough. We've never seen him at a lower level, maybe he can get by with putting in the effort 60-70% of the time and the rest being protected because he's able to with a drop off in opposition to face. I'd rather not find out, he should be told to find a new club and waive the transfer fee, just cover his wages.

Yeah it does. Think there were some hesitance when he last signed a new deal as he'd been tipped for first team football with us for a few years and hadn't been given a chance. We need to build our team around him and prove he is the future of this club, if so I think he'll sign a new long term deal as he's going to the very top and will reach it by playing regularly.

Surprised Coady hasn't gone there with bold statements like that. Most comprehensive sports museum and internal club atmosphere in Turkey.

Wout to Monaco (loan with ~€8m option, official)
Ric Flair replied to CloudFox's topic in Transfer Talk
When I look at the 5 CBs we have, Souttar being included. Nelson is similar to Vestergaard. Okoli and Souttar are very good at blocks and overall defensive screening. Souttar is better in the air and bith fairly quick. Faes is the odd one out, but he's also the risk taker which we have both benefitted from and felt the cost from. He's more than good enough at this level and when the dips in form come, I'd rather a manager treat him as droppable than how Enzo considered him but it's his attitude that makes me not want him here anymore. I'd take a loan with a reasonable option to buy from the likes of Lazio or other clubs previously linked. We need to really progress this overhaul. -
Wout to Monaco (loan with ~€8m option, official)
Ric Flair replied to CloudFox's topic in Transfer Talk
Our best hope is a loan with an option to buy, but I've a feeling now we've got rid of Coady we'll be happy for Faes to stay unless a good offer came in (which won't) -
He says himself his best position is as a #10. I'd be interested to see if he's that good. His skill rather than his pace might make him very dangerous centrally.
-
Hopefully as part of any deal, if its us,we send a couple of our talented academy players your way on loan.
-
Mavididi and Fatawu had so many 1 v 1s today because of the way they both pressed relentlessly and created the space. Often needs them both to be on it to open up the pitch. I'd be interested to see Monga behind the striker with those two either side. Scary prospect
-
Quite possibly, many players suffer loss of form and then confidence. What is also quite common is how fearless young players are and as they get older things effect them more. It's not a case of becoming battle hardened, more the ignorance of youth and not got the baggage of past failures.
-
Hope so, he needs to move on. He's just never struck me as a player that interested in leaving England for the sake of it. I'm so surprised he signed a new deal last summer.
-
Not sure he'll agree to go.
-
I'd seen some murmurs that he'd been lined up for a move to MLS but that's not materialised. Does Scott Parker need a squad filler at Burnley?
-
Such a myth about Luke Thomas. Throwing him in, saw him have an extremely good first few seasons. He lost his way in 2022/23 and then Enzo didn't fancy him at all and he had a couple of poor loan spells. Worked his way back to being solid.

Bilal El Khannouss (Stuttgart loan, official)
Ric Flair replied to lcfc_forever's topic in Transfer Talk
I thought he was mediocre at best today but I love him. With a bit of luck, we get Winks, Soumare and Ndidi out and get a midfield destroyer in and we could play El Khannouss and another box to box midfielder and cause real problems. -
How i saw it as well. Also thought Skipp was horrid vs Koln. Yet to see him have a good game for us.

Sheff Wed -10th Aug 16:30 - First up?
Ric Flair replied to Spudulike's topic in Leicester City Forum
I've made peace with it if those around him can press relentlessly and he does his bit holding the ball up and finding space to score regularly. It's not what I'd want long term ambition i really hope we sign a more complete forward who is quick, presses well, holds the ball up and is a handy finisher. However, central midfield for me is the priority, it honks. -
Still want this lad, he's done nowt since going Frankfurt and we'd get him on loan.
-
Should start for us, if think he'll work his way in to the team very quickly. Was incredible at times for Oxford at this level and looked comfortable the year before for us. He's classy on the ball, quick, there's not much weakness. We need to tie him down to a new deal, as next summer he'll only have a year left.
-
He's one of very few players who are both footed. Weirdly we have two of them in him and Monga. Sadly we also have a player who is neither footed, who trips himself up regularly.
-
It's only that simple if the manager is brave enough to do so. I think Cifuentes is, but plenty in the past don't dare blood youngsters and allow them time to settle in. What I want to see here is what Marti alluded to last week. That the squad is trimmed right down and doesn't block thr pathway for the academy. He wants a smaller squad so he can call upon them.
