I've been temped many times to try 0% beer but I know what will happen. I'll get the taste back and end up trying a normal beer again. Then I'll be hooked/dependent and back to square one. It has to be a cup of tea or a coke for me these days.

It was 7 years last month since I've drank alcohol. I always feel a bit preachy when listing the numerous benefits to stopping drinking, but there are so many to me. There is life after booze and in my experience, it's so much better.

Is there a difference between 'cheating' and cooking the books? Did their dodgy accounting actually translate to an advantage on the pitch?

Remember it's not necessarily the person you're speaking too/building a relationship with who might have an opportunity. It's more often about "Who do you know who..." (might be after someone with my skillset)

The Robbie Williams documentary on Netflix is interesting. He's still very much in his own head with an inflated ego and talking about himself in the 3rd person but clearly suffers from MH issues. Living in a $50m mansion, £230m in the bank, a wife and 4 kids, but he still seems a bit lost. He makes a good point that child superstars (he was only 16 when Take That started) very rarely end up graduating to a normal adulthood. Too much too young.

On reflection, I'm not sure I fully appreciated the brilliance of Radiohead first time around.

Agree. I used to enjoy driving but I don't anymore. It's just a necessity now and I'm always relieved when my journey is over.

The world spends 2.2 TRILLION dollars a year on defence. Imagine if there was no threat and everyone laid down their arms instead. Imagine what good all that money could do. We live in fear and it costs us dearly. The Beatles had it right, all you need is love.

It’s sad but true. Their Neanderthal, tribal, brains are scared of others who are different to them. We talk about money/religion/politics being the reason for the world’s problems but fear is always the driver. The world will only heal itself when we learn to love and accept each others differences rather than think they’re a threat to us.

We talk about these EDL people being full of hate but actually they're scared. They're quite clearly in 'fight' mode which is a threat response. For whatever reason, they feel threatened and are therefore fearful. The clue is in the title English ‘Defence” League. You only feel the need to ‘defend’ yourself if your brain thinks you’re under attack. (and sadly they're not intelligent enough to think rationally)

Wouldn't mind doing a round the world cruise but they take about 4 months and cost around £30k I think

I thought they were great. A bit bias as you'd expect but very energetic and engaging. Injected a bit of humour and banter and gave us credit where it was due.
