In the grand scheme of things, that announcement is small beer.

I find it increasingly difficult to know what to believe in politics. And that's partly why I spoilt my paper at the last election. Each side accusing the other of not being straight and honest - it's tiresome. So as for the last 35 years of my working life, I'll just play the hand I'm dealt and get on with it.

Solar System on BBC2/i-player with Brian Cox. People who already understand planets, space and all that might not learn much new, but for a muppet like me it's bloody fascinating.

Solar System on BBC with Brian Cox is awesome. I love how he explains things so simply that even a noddy like me understands it. Those NASA probes out there exploring space are amazing.

I’m no expert but have had many surgeries under GA over the years. I think having Immunisations close to surgery could maybe affect having an anaesthetic so they want to make sure there’s no risk of the immune system being compromised. Maybe an arse covering exercise in case of any complications but if your son had his latest jabs a while ago then there shouldn’t be anything to worry about. Hope everything goes well

I think the point is that when things are going well on the pitch, it’s easy as a fan to sing and make a noise getting swept up in the excitement. The issue is when things aren’t going so well and the team need the crowd to urge them on - which takes effort. ’Sing your hearts out for the lads’ regardless

I’m not so sure that was the case back in the day. Even when we were really shit in the 80’s I still remember us getting behind the team even when we were losing badly. Maybe rose tinted specs but I think we encouraged the team more back then because we were always the underdogs and starved of success. I’m convinced our recent success has made some fans feel more entitled for the atmosphere to be driven from the pitch when it should also be the fans role to lift the players.

Maybe it’s a reflection of what’s happening on the pitch. I thought Southampton away end first half was crap but outstanding second half. Seems many of our fans need the players to lift them rather than the other way around.
