He was still an infinitely better option than Danny Ward, whether he was on the decline or not and ultimately that’s what led to our relegation. If honest discussions were had about our ffp situation surely he would have accepted a 3 year deal on lesser terms but with bigger bonuses etc, but it sounds like he wasn’t even in that situation to negotiate. Instead of costing the club 15 mil in wages over 3 years it’s cost us 100+ in premier deals alone

This makes me so ****ing angry. I won’t hide that I am a big fan of Kasper, but even on the decline we’d have stayed up with him in net comfortably last year. Rubbing salt in the wound that we knowingly allowed that ****ing sausage 27 games last season when the ownership could have just given kasper a 2 year deal with a further year based on performances. There’s a special place in hell for Brendan Rodgers for not only allowing that ****ed up experiment in Danny Ward last season, but refusing to make up whatever problem him and Kasper had to stop it ever getting to that point. Whilst I’d agree normally, Souttar is 6 ft 6 and I’d hazard a guess at winning over 85% of his aerial duals. It wouldn’t be easy for them to deal with at all. I think our style of play for the most part is good but when it’s clearly not working like last night it does need switching up, not necessarily by just pumping it long to a big centre half but with his goal scoring record for Australia it must be worth a try
