  1. It's brilliant to watch Spain. Relentless attack! They have a 16 year old playing for them... Pedri is 18. A bit more experience for these players and they are going to be a world force again. If England got a top manager, we could play like this. In fact other than the Rodri role, I think we have everything else Spain have in the right positions. We just don't have the man with the plan.
  2. For shits and giggles, I compared the two: You can see why anyone would be interested in a player like this.
  3. We do have that sort of money, as do all the Premier League clubs, if they want to spend it. Sheffield United got over 100M despite finishing last. https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/premier-league-prize-money-2324-32798245 We aren't selling KDH because we need the money, we are selling him so that in the last accounting period we don't post a limit breaking loss, so we don't get another points penalty. The bigger question is if we should spend this kind of money, because if we get relegated due to a points deduction, we know that the EFL will also punish us pretty bad too. But you could argue that we should assemble a good squad now because if we go down, we won't be able to sign anyone anyway. Given we are literally selling our best player last season, I can see us going big for one or two players. Though I will agree with you and others in the thread that this position doesn't feel like the one we'd go for. But having a big physical bastard in the middle of the pitch that can pass is a great player to have in the Premier League!
  4. This game has Spain xG of 6 and lose 1-0 written all over it. Georgia look deadly on the break though it must be said!
  5. 8 years in the job and no attacking identity! Insane. England might still win the game but look at the opposition, very well coached and clear patterns of play. The gap in tactical ability between the coaches is huge.
  6. Exactly, it’s just to balance books. But the good thing is he has a lot of potential. Chelsea have a brilliant academy and so many players that leave still do great, see Livramento, Guehi, Tomori, Miley, etc. He’s a good signing but you’d expect him to be a squad option this season, playing a bigger role in the years to come. Way prefer this to Casadei who was a major disappointment in his time here.
  7. Very promising player but not really the first name on the list for a relegation battle. If we do get relegated, he’d be a real asset to get us back up. Of the players we were linked to from Chelsea, this one is pretty good.
  8. This is why I shouldn't post at 1AM! OK that makes way more sense as it's been clear we have been scouting Argentina and South America for a long time, though haven't seen anything come from it. This is much better news as quite a few players from that league have come over here and impressed quickly in recent seasons.
  9. GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL! Some highlights: Got to say, it's a nice highlights reel to watch! (But not listen to!)
  10. No one wants any of their other players they want to sell and he saves them from PSR. My guess is as you said before, he’s not played a game for them yet so less crippling than losing Isak or Gordon.
  11. ^ This is why so many clubs are after him. Goals Assists Can beat a player Does his defensive duties brilliantly I'm not sure there's another player in Europe on the market with stats like this who is available right now. He might not be able to convert it into the Premier League right away, but given his age, it's likely he'll come good sooner rather than later.
  12. I'm guessing the club didn't expect the FA to come down as hard on teams that broke PSR as they have been. As you say last season in appoinint Maresca plus beating Southampton and Leeds to the signings of Coady and Winks early seemed like a statement of intent and "we'll buy our way back up." Compare that to this season. We went for Cooper or Potter over Corberan because there was no fee involved. Most singings seem to be in the 5-10m camp...
  13. That danish number 3 has been pretty impressive. Great at playing it out under pressure. Wish we had a centre back like that!
  14. Over the top of the shoulder, on the run, with defenders around him, instantly gives him a scoring opportunity. Exquisite! Think Rudiger did well to recover it so fast, hard to react to someone doing that so quickly.
  15. Feels like the topic should be renamed to Germany vs Kasper Schmeichel! Long night ahead for the Danes...
  16. Left footed CAM by the looks of it:
  17. Pre-relegation Leiester would have been all over a player like this. These sort of signings are always a gamble. I was so excited for Daka after seeing his pace, his work rate, striking power and goal record at RB Salzburg, but so far has not lived up to the hype. You could say the same about Iheanacho who has ended up leaving before Vardy. However, with Ioannidis there are a few things that really impress me; his composure and his awareness. Daka is one that rarely goes for placed finishes, whereas this guy is a cool customer under pressure. Perhaps more importantly he's good at dropping deep and linking the play. Daka I think is a player that excels in a certain setup. Imagine him under Ragnick's Austria for example. Ioannidis I think would be less good in that sort of system, but probably a lot better in the Enzo style one. But now we have Cooper, what sort of style will we play? If we imagine it's going to be backs against the walls and playing on the break, then do we need another striker? Are we planning on using Cannon? Given Vardy has just one season left in him I can understand us going for a striker, but I wonder if we get one this season or next. With this player, it says a lot that Sporting want him in case they lose Gyokeres, as Gyokeres has been possibly the best striker in all of Europe last season!
  18. One Chelsea player I’d love to see here is Andrey Santos, but Cooper had him on loan at Forest and only used him twice!
  19. Whatever happens, I will appreciate KDH even more than I do already after this. Came through the academy Stayed with us in the Championship Stand out performer to get us back up Actually cares about the club and fans Is only leaving to help out the club Along with Emile Heskey, he goes down as a brilliant servant for the club and an all-round top guy. I hope he does well and can break through to the England team. I was hoping that would be with us, but there won't be a bad word from me about KDH, even if he ends up banging in the winner against us.
  20. That is possible, but then we could loan players for a season / loan with option rather than outright purchasing them. This lad isn't terrible, but don't see him pulling up any trees. If we get relegated again I think he'd be a top end Championship player though. Overall he's just very underwhelming, though to be fair I thought that about Mavididi too. Given this season is going to be a struggle, I'm really hoping Glover can pull some more magic and find players like Hermansen and Fatawu. If we sign him I'll certainly get behind him, but wow how optimisim has gone down the drain from just a few months ago...
  21. I’m half Polish so follow the national team a little bit. Moder is an OK player but nothing more. The best like for like Polish player would actually be Sebastian Szymanski who’s at Fenerbahce but they’d want a lot as he had almost 20 G+A last season. If we kept KDH and signed Moder as a squad option, that wouldn’t be so bad but losing KDH and signing him in a relegation battle… Moder is high energy and gets stuck in but we’ll badly miss the goal contributions.
