Probably be seeing more keenly priced Abercrombie & Fitch stuff in TK Maxx now, if you're into that sort of thing

That's very kind of you to go to that trouble, thank you. I was sort of fearing it would be that much but that doesn't make it a no-goer. It's a lot of cash isn't it? That's broadly in line with what my folks have been quoted for theirs which, although I've not measured it, is roughly the same area I'd have thought. I'd heard that the cost of tarmac has increased even more than the others so is not the cheaper go to it once was. Are there any other colours in that other than the traditional black? My neighbour had hers done in black tarmac and although they've done a good job it looks a bit plain, but that's probably because it's literally nothing but tarmac, nothing breaking it up at all

My mate was doing the 10k and beating the the HM runners was his main goal, and he also managed it by a similar margin. You've got to be happy with that time? A course that ends with New Walk's not going to be PB territory is it?

Good luck to everyone running today
-
I walked up it for years on my way to work without noticing it's uphill, so when I did the half I was almost thinking they'd changed it for the race somehow
-
Would it surprise you to learn that, no, there isn't? Which is exactly why I'm in a recently recorded but yet to be broadcast episode of Dragons' Den. I don't want to give too much away but suffice to say it doesn't go well!

No euphemisms here. I really would do all of that, and then accept a kick in the nads as payment

I'm having to sit through Jungle Cruise again and whilst it's not good it could never be total turd as it features a lot of Emily Blunt. If I got to spend any time with her I'd be very tired at the end of it, as I would have just been doing anything she told me to do, like her washing, putting out the bins, re-pointing her brickwork etc

The Running Thread (formerly How fast can you run a 5k?)
Bellend Sebastian replied to Sly's topic in General Chat
That DOES make it sound quite a lot, it's loads more than I'd normally do, probably just 1 x 5 and 1 x 10 in a normal week. Nothing now until Tuesday at the earliest, let's see if there's any improvement off the back of this or if I'm as crap as ever -
The Running Thread (formerly How fast can you run a 5k?)
Bellend Sebastian replied to Sly's topic in General Chat
I've done three 10k and one 5k runs in a week and I really think that's enough now -
Amazing! I'll give anything a go!

Nice one, thanks. That's a lot more than the online guides suggested, but as my folks were quoted similar for a cash job I thought they were on the optimistic side. I'm thinking block now, if the budget will stretch to it. I think the resin ones look great but I'm a bit worried about what you do if they get messed up e.g. by driving my ridiculously heavy electric car onto it repeatedly

Anyone on here do/know about groundwork? Got a driveway of 45 ish sq metres that needs doing. Seeing wildly varying costs per metre on the old internet for the different types, so not got a clue which options I can afford, if I can afford any of them. Probably go for resin or block if the budget will stretch. Anyone got any idea what the cost per metre is round these parts (Leicester)?

A 60 year old now arrested as well, apparently
-
I've had that hope myself but having met actual people that think like this I'm not that optimistic
-
Giz a job. I can do that. Giz it.

In my head it's asking people if they fancy going for a pint and when the offer is rebuffed, saying "no worries mate, another time maybe". I'd be great at it -
"there are concerns with mental illness" Understatement of the year contender, there. Obviously something needs to be done with him but I wouldn't be wildly optimistic that prison is going to get him sorted

How big a tree can you transplant from one place to another? Come on boffins, get working on it. There's bound to be one going spare on some country estate somewhere

It's international level c**tery isn't it? You know the cops have gone into the local secondary school and said, please tell us anonymously who's a big enough c*** to have done this and been given a list where one name comes up again and again. To destroy something so irreplaceable, so iconic..the only thing I can think of that's similar is when the Taliban blew up those massive ancient statues. This lad is going to be about as popular

I notice neither of you have mentioned what's going to happen when the nano-technology in the COVID-19 vaccine is activated by the 5G signal which makes me wonder just what your agendas are??? -

We'll all have an AI driven robot buddy to tear us a new arsehole when it malfunctions before we get to that, one thing at a time -
Why's Narborough Road shut then? They're keeping very tight about it at the minute but forensics have been seen down there, so it's crime rather than an RTC. If were to play crime bingo I'd assume it's either a) controlling bloke murders his partner or b) bloke living in multiple occupancy household beats housemate/friend to death after all day drinking session, both of which we've had at this end of town on a few occasions over the last few years. I lived very close to Narborough Road from 2000 to 2011 and to be honest it was pretty crap at the start of that period, then enjoyed a bit of a boom for a few years and was starting to go down hill again when we left. It was a victim of its own success in a way, the rapid rise in house prices in the early 2000s saw loads of property snapped up as investments rather than to live in, and there were fewer and fewer people living there on a long term basis. The tightening of parking restrictions in the city centre turned it into the city's free car park, which just sped up the exodus of people that were actually bothered about the area, and by the time they brought in residents' only parking there to sort out of it out it was too late
