  1. Agree! Can you see Levy signing players for 100 million plus?! Or Mourinho accepting spending nothing? I'd actually say there is more chance of Tony Pulis going there!
  2. You have made some interesting points in favour of, or defending VAR, and I am always open to any point which may change my mind. But I just struggle with the whole concept. Certainly in it's current form. Obviously it's there to correct 100% certain errors, but it's not doing that, as explained by Andy Gray in the above clip on offside, and the incorrect decisions we've seen so far on penalties, and red cards. And just who on the VAR panel decide what is a 100% certain error and how do they decide? Do they vote? Do they pick straws? Do they do rocks paper scissors? One human's dubious decision is another man's 100% certain error! VAR is viewed by humans, the referee is human. Therefore VAR human error mistakes and different human views on a particular situation will always occur which will continue to ensure there are just as many controversial decisions as before. Even in our own matches, I can think of several decisions which VAR has reviewed, but after the match ex referees have said was the wrong VAR decision, including two red cards in the Bournemouth match, and Albrighton's penalty. There have already been far too many dubious decisions by VAR for anyone to claim it's adding anything to our game, improving referee standards, or making things fairer.
  3. So what's the point of VAR?!!!
  4. I got that bit. The point Andy Gray was making in his analysis, was the exact time the ball left the foot of the pass. Whatever speed you watch it at, VAR cannot possibly pin point the exact moment it left the boot of the player who passes. This is where the 13-14 cms error scenario comes into play.
  5. Reading section 3 of that graphic agrees with what I said, and clearly shows there can be as much as a 13 cms error. Which is the point Andy Gray made in his analysis on the Stirling goal, and as written above. That 13 cm has been enough to disallow several goals this season, which could have actually been onside and has ended up being as controversial as any refereeing decision.
  6. I just KNEW I could count on you!!!
  7. Again, what about the report that showed VAR can be as much as 13-14 cms out on offside decisions? And watch the Andy Gray clip on the early pages of this thread. If you take into account VAR can be as much as 13-14 cms out, at least four goals to my recollection would have stood, including Son's offside against us.
  8. And again, this is the problem. Here are two former referees decisions on the Albrighton penalty. Keith Hackett said Mane dived and it was not a penalty. Dermot Gallagher said Albrighton caught him so it was a penalty. Therefore if those two had been the VAR officials we'd still be waiting for a decision now! The whole system has been poorly introduced. It's not been properly thought through, and not enough time has been given for VAR to be properly effective.
  9. Post saved! And I'm sure there are many on here looking forward to seeing that spectacular view!.................but don't bank on me flying back for the occasion! But just the thought of Spuds being relegated.....You know, I might just join you!
  10. Now we've seen the problems that VAR have caused, and how it's just throwing up the same confusion and problems without sorting out much at all, I wonder if we started the poll again from scratch if the results would change even more? Only 20% of voters 'love it'. I reckon the 52% of 'somewhere in between' would swing heavily towards 'hate it' if we re ran the poll, and I'd also bet that the 20% 'love it' votes would not increase.
  11. All this talk about Man Utd going down........... How about the mighty Spuds joining them? Poch has now been given a vote of confidence by 'shrewd businessman' Levy so he'll be out soon! Mind you, with Levy having to pay Poch 35 million to get rid, he may hang around until OGS gets the boot from Man Utd, then Levy can come up with another of his utterly crazy transfer fees (60 million last time I read) for Man Utd to get him. And Man Utd are stupid enough to pay it too.
  12. Klopp should show more class, and he should also clean his glasses as much as he does his teeth as he only sees what he wants to see. This from Dermot Gallagher, on Sky Sports ref watch today: DERMOT SAYS: "I don't think he even catches him with his boot. It is a yellow-card challenge and if you look at it, he catches him more with the side of his leg. He's low, he's come a short distance and Salah is going away from him so it isn't the speed and intensity of hitting the bloke straight on, so I think it's a yellow card."
  13. More like Fat Sam to get them out of the relegation zone.....
  14. Yes, I got that, but thought I'd add that very important information! If Kasper had saved it there would have been a retake for something. Off his line, encroachment or Klopp cleaning his teeth. Any excuse would have done!
  15. 'Hi, this is the ref' 'Do you realize you're interrupting our tea break?' 'Sorry about that, but I've got a small problem' 'Well, get on with it, our tea's getting cold' 'Well, I've given a penalty but I'm not sure if Albrighton fouled him, or Mane dived' 'Just fiddle with your earpiece for a minute and look like we're discussing it' 'OK' 'Well, he did clip him, but he also dived' 'So what do you think? Penalty or not?' 'No idea, just let us get back to our tea break' 'Sorry to disturb you' 'Next time, make it something important'
  16. Sky sports app, Demot Gallaher's ref watch, thought it was the right decision, although soft. He also agreed with the yellow for Hamza but added Hamza did not deserve a red. Anyway, it's done now. We lost, they won, it's over and there's nothing we can do to chance that decision or result.
  17. What? Really? Our fans talking bo**ocks? I can't believe that for one second!
  18. Haven't seen those Ads, but for every advert showing us, I'd bet there are 100 adverts featuring Liverpool, Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea and Arsenal. Nearly every TV ad features those teams. Nearly every schedule is based around those clubs, especially as the season progresses. Our win was the 'one in 25 years' which does help them short term, but worldwide audiences don't watch Leicester City. (I think only 65,000 tuned in for some of out champions league matches). I still think they would much prefer one of those five clubs winning the P/L, year in year out, in order to sell their product.
  19. Man Utd have been in a big decline for several years. Some terrible choices as manager, none worse that their current one who I still think will be out by Xmas. (Fat Sam, are you reading this?). They are run very badly. De Gea has been dropped by Spain, interest in him cooled and Man Utd then rewarded him with a contract paying him twice as much as before! Maguire was a panic buy because they were desperate for a centre back and couldn't get anyone else. He was far too expensive but he decided to join a poorer team, but with a big name and a big pay rise. Nothing against him but I do wonder what he thinks he's got himself into going there as the chances of winning anything are going to be pretty slim for a few years. Rashford has started believing all the hype written about him instead of buckling down and working hard. It all came too fast and too soon. He's nowhere near the player he was 3 years ago. That is down to poor man management as much as his own failings. Pogba has been a very disrupting influence on the team for the past two seasons. Fergie would have sold him the second he started playing up. James has potential, but has been thrown in because the team are so poor. Under Fergie he would have been brought through and given proper guidance to ensure he improved and kept his feet on the ground. OGS is so far out of his depth it's embarrassing. I doubt any other P/L club would have even considered hiring him before Man Utd. It was an emotional appointment and they rarely work. Their fans are going to have to get used to mid table mediocrity for the next few years. (If they avoid relegation this season!!)
  20. A team should get a penalty for a foul in the penalty whatever their body position, but diving, or falling, after a foul is just about the only way they will get a penalty. VAR is pointless because it's another human decision and they rarely go against a referee unless there is absolutely no contact whatsoever. I want to ask VAR officials why Marc Albrighton's tackle was a penalty, but Danny Rose's tackle in the Bayern match, where he scythed the strikers legs away without winning the ball in a two footed challenge, wasn't a penalty. There is no consistency whatsoever. The last time I can remember a referee give a penalty without a dive was Mike Dean (wonderful referee ) giving one against us for shirt pulling, but even then I think the opposition striker went over.
  21. There is no question in my mind that the P/L want one of Liverpool, Man City, Man Utd, Arsenal or Chelsea to win the P/L because it helps them sell their product around the world. It always makes me wonder if referees are under some sort of pressure to ensure those clubs get the really big decisions. It's probably OK, (once every 25 years or so!) if someone like us wins it just because it gets them different headlines, but it's those 5 clubs that sell the P/L, it's those 5 clubs that people around the world want to watch and who get the big TV audiences, and it's those 5 clubs that get the big publicity and headlines. (Who remembers Blackburn winning the P/L?) Out here, it's very rare to see any Thai's wearing football tops of any other English club. I've never seen anyone wearing a Watford, Bournemouth, Sheff Utd, Aston Villa, Newcastle, Norwich, Palace, West Ham, Southampton, Wolves, Brighton, Burnley or Everton shirt, and even Spuds shirts are very, very rare. I see more Leicester City shirts than all of those clubs put together, although that could be because of our Thai links, as much as our P/L win. In fact my Thai neighbour out here often wears a Vardy 9 Leicester shirt. I've never spoken to him as he can't speak English, and I can't speak Thai, so him wearing it had nothing to do with me!
  22. I love supportive posts like this......... Makes me feel so proud to be a foxes fan.............
  23. I've said the same in other posts. But it's the FA and referees who have brought about cheating and diving because they will not (or very very rarely) give a penalty if a players doesn't go over. Therefore they have encouraged players to dive otherwise there's little, or no chance, of a penalty. I'm also certain that managers give instructions for players to dive, for the very same reason. It's worth the risk of a yellow card to get a penalty which wont be given if they don't fall. As for VAR, the sooner it's binned the better. It's a disgrace and all it's doing is stirring up more contentious decisions than we had before. It's already been reported that it's as much as 13-14 cms out on offside decisions, it's not overruling poor referee decisions, it's making referees worse, not better, it's hindering, not helping, the game, and it's spoiling the continuity of the game. As for Marc. He's an experienced P/L winner and a senior player. He should have known better. He's done it before a few times and should have learnt. But it's still a class move from him to go over to the fans to apologize rather than many who would get off the pitch as quickly as possible.
  24. Me too, but on the left in front of Chilwell, rather than the right. No more Maddison, or Barnes in front of Chilwell please BR. Let Maddison, Tielemans play in the centre, with either Perez or Praet on the right of midfield. Kasper Ricardo Evans Soyuncu Chilwell Ndidi Perez Tielemans Maddison Albrighton Vardy
  25. If Maguire's worth 85 million, Soyuncu is worth 150 million. Much better all round player with good pace and classy skills. Excellent again yesterday and my MOTM.
