  1. Well, at least Kane isn't there for us to sing "Leicester reject" and then him batter in 3 goals.
  2. Becuse Hojbjerg played most games and it was either one or the other playing with him generally.
  3. The issue is not having money, we have money. The issue is complying with PSR. If you spend £25m on two players on 5 year contracts (£50m total), it adds just £10m to your PSR for the year (plus wages). So that should be doable, yes.
  4. I'd expect KDH to fetch more, being more eye-grabbing as a player who gets forward more. But he's also two years older, so we've got a few years of development in Skipp.
  5. I would say there are huge question marks over Ndidi, he's not been near the same player for three years now.
  6. We didn't vote for their implementation, I don't believe we were in the league for that vote. I think we've voted on changes though. Can't remember exactly, we've been over this before in other threads.
  7. We are overpaying, but I don't think it's by that much, in all honesty. IF it's £20m + 5m. The extra £5m is likely heavily weighted on staying up for starters. He was in a team of the season in the championship when Norwich got promoted and rated very, very highly by their fans, and labelled as one of their main reasons for promotion. Off the back of a good championship season and what I thought was one poor and one middling premier league season, loads on here expected £40m+ for KDH
  8. We are not prioritising it over a forward; why do people go on about this? We are trying for a forward, but they've fallen through because of last-minute hijacks by more appealing clubs. Should we really wait until we've signed a striker before you sign another player? It's nonsensical.
  9. If it's a two year contract, and he's supplementary to another younger signing as well I don't mind him signing. But we know we hand out three year contracts and honestly the last thing we need right now is another aging player on three years.
  10. Tells you what exactly? Spurs are chasing champions league places, the type of player profile they want, expect and need is entirely different to us.
  11. Because the whole KDH fees goes on the books for the last psr. Only a few million will go on this seasons books as it’s amortised over length of contract. The stupidity of PSR for you.
  12. It doesn’t add that much to PSR, this transfer isn’t going to cause us to break the rules again. Not putting them on the correct contracts would.
  13. I don’t think that’s fair particularly, we’ve clearly focused on the managers pick of mostly players with prem experience. We signed Hermansen and Fatawu last season who nobody had heard of.
  14. “May feet aren’t really size threes, it’s the angle of the photo”
  15. You usually end up getting two figures… one the selling club leak and one the buying club leak. You’ll probably get a Percy article soon saying the “price is thought to be up to £20.5m with considerable add ons”.
  16. I agree it’s something that needs improving, but we’ve tried to sign plenty of highly rated players. People scoff now but Daka and Soumare for two were highly thought of by quite a few. If the manager wants a British core, then so be it. I’m not against that, I mean how could anyone be. Pearson did the same and we won three leagues thanks to that thinking in part. But I think perhaps the profile of player from this country is up for debate.
  17. Didn’t we sign our keeper from that league literally last season? For every uncut gem that works, there are a dozen that turn out to be cubic zirconia. All signings have risks. And by the sounds of it the manager wanted a good core of players from this country.
  18. The fee could be made up if anything, could be £15m and the rest made up with clauses. Absolutely pointless going on about.
  19. Mates a Spurs fan who goes to a lot of games and rates him, says he’s sad to see him go.
  20. Panic stricken… we’ve obviously been interested for ages as the rumours have been about a while. We’ve failed to get a number of transfers over the line for whatever reason and now we’ve had to bite the bullet and pay what the other club asked to progress a deal. Im not sure why the outrage though to be honest, it’s more than I would have liked. But we were paying £8-£10m for Ulloa a decade ago. We paid £14m for a winger after one decent season and even that price was agreed before he’d kicked a ball, Players cost a lot of money. Especially if you want people used to playing premier league football in this country.
  21. Ok, that’s a sackable offence on its own.
  22. There are also people on here full of shit, lie out of their back teeth etc. So I’m not taking anyone’s word for it without proof or without being reputable, as people have their own agendas, or try to conflate them not liking him as a youth team member or a parent as somehow meaning they they know ins and outs of the club. They don’t.
  23. Well that’s the problem, people think that and can’t back it up. I’ve said times, don’t presume because I defend someone on certain things doesn’t mean I think they are blameless.
  24. @VLC86 “I promise to keep up with my rubbish if you promise to keep up with yours. Edit: And just a quick one, who at the club do you think is maybe targeting the wrong players?” I’ll answer this here as the other thread is locked. Well, the recruitment team are responsible for targeting players. Taking some direction from the DOF and the manager. But in terms of the plan, or lack of plan which then knocks on the the players it’s very very likely to be directed, or not as the case may be here by Rudkin. Who has seemingly neither gone with a staying plan, or planned for a life after relegation. We are caught between and are doing neither. Here is the thing you keep on missing, I’ve apportioned blame to Rudkin. The only question is how much blame should be apportioned to him because on lots of the stuff he’s involved in, other people’s decisions could have knocked on to his job, or he could have been overruled. The simple fact is we don’t know. What I will do for him and pretty much anyone else is defend them if I think people are just being stupid and unfairly blaming them for everything and anything. A classic is people bringing up KP racing when they have no idea what he does, how much he does, what other staff have been employed to help if he is involved a lot etc. It’s barking up the wrong tree. People for instance whining about not getting x or y signing over the line are barking up the wrong tree. It’s quite likely he’s done nothing wrong, signings fail all the time for clubs as there are lots of parties involved who you can’t control. If you want to discuss lack of planning when it comes to managers. Our plan for this summer. Allowing Rodgers almost total control (allowing him to bring in Congeton, allowing him to remove Rennie), the you are likely to find yourself on the same side as me. I’m not going to join in the little band wagon on here that wants to moan and whine and blame everything on him though.
  25. Or the player wasn’t sure about it because we aren’t very palatable, as I’ve been saying all summer, and why I’ve said numerous time that we should have been targeting players that even in our position, it’s a step up. But do carry on with your rubbish.
