  1. We've had money; PSR means we can't spend it all. A few people on here who have followed all the numbers suggested a budget in excess of £30m.
  2. If we signed some decent players and then went on to stay up, I think I'd struggle to stop laughing.
  3. We've been linked with a few keepers, seeing as we already have 4 it would suggest someone is sniffing around a few of ours currently, and we're putting feelers out just in case anything happens in terms of players out.
  4. Nobody lets common sense get in the way of a good moan so they.
  5. You just keep reading what you want to read.
  6. What I just posted is no diffent to what I've posted numerous times before. But if someone on here keeps posting "rUdKin pIcKs sHiT pLaYeRs", I'll keep defending him.
  7. The Wolsburg winger isn't it?!?!?
  8. I'll say it again, and this came from people who worked here and was in the press and books etc. That used to line up the transfers to an extent and give costing outlines, and are the ones saying actually X player is better value than Y player etc. He's not a scout, he's not there to know the ins and outs of valuations around the world, people are employed to provide that information. And, we don't know the remit... did Vichai and in turn Top say "just get the players that are recommended", and they are told not to worry about costings. Personally, in terms of "letting them sign Turkeys". I don't want anyone meddling, I don't want him saying no to signings or putting names forward. That's on the scouting team to suggest good players. I just want him to do the due dilligence on the head scout and get the very best we can, not bend over backwards for a manager and get his mate in. I also want them to set a direction... eg. We want a focus on younger players with sell on value, and to focus on if we go down we have a talented team proven at that level, that might also stay up. And let the scouts do their job. We failed with Congerton and it has sowed many bad seeds. We let the manager have too much power with Rodgers and it's looking that way again under Cooper and we don't seem to have much of a direction in terms of signings and so far his "passing" ideal seems like bluster. I'm far more concerned about this big decision stuff. Rather than moaning about x or y player getting paid too much, when if they were actaully any good, people wouldn't give two hoots what they were paid.
  9. Not much you can do about it if others turn you down, the points deduction and PSR issues clearly meant we are operating with one arm behind out backs in terms of all recruitment.
  10. "Rudkin for identifying shite players like bertand soumare Daka"
  11. I wouldn't be shocked if it's a bit deeper than that. eg. He cost £4m, but you have to negotiate for the backroom team seperately, and then WB can hold you over a barrell. Or simply we fancied Cooper more, for whatever reason.
  12. He suggested, and it's what the board from what we know have said they wanted. So if he doesn't provide a scrap of it, he's going to lose their faith rapidly I'd imagine.
  13. What is? Appointing Congerton? Yes it's his fault, I literally just said that. But he doesn't pick the players, which the person posting suggested he did.
  14. I'd have thought that was obvious, Rudkin. It's nothing I've not pointed out half a dozen times before (people remember what they want to). People get so stuck on blaming people for every little things and barely ever seem to discuss the bigger issues, which snowball into all the smaller issues.
  15. Mobile phones handed out like confetti, and access to unfiltered access to social media. Total ban on smart phones for under 16's would make a massive difference. God knows what impact tablets are having, I feel like I go out for a meal and my kid is the only one not on the tablet for the entire meal.
  16. Rudkin doesn't identify players; the scouts and head of recruitment do, with some influence from the managers also. Pointless moaning at him about players signed, focus on the bigger decisions of installing heads of recruitment suggested by the manager, a head of recruitment who had a track record of total failure. It's also pointless to moan about not selling players. You can't force players to go, or to sign contracts. You can't force clubs to make bids that are acceptable. Plus, our financial situation, which I don't put at his door but that of Whelan and Top, as they are the people signing off his budgets. Then impacted out ability to transfer in and out, as low offers to just get rid were of no benefit, as it doesn't give you the abiity to sign equal quality. As I've said a few times, there were failures all throughout the club. Which then compound and cause other issues down the line. It's a collective f*** up.
  17. We have to take risks, we can't afford ready made players so players from lesser leagues were always what we needed. In fact I'd rather have taken more risks (presuming budget allowed it), rather than 32/33 year olds. But as we can see here, even they cost a big chunk of change.
  18. So you aren’t giving him more than two games then. I can only presume you still think Zolt Lasko and Junior Lewis are amazing players.
  19. It’s not that difficult sadly. Can we just give players more than two games in what was always likely to be a struggling team before writing them off.
  20. Pretty obvious wasn’t it. Could have done it in a more concise was of course. I’d imagine it’s as simple as JJ showing more effort in preseason etc. That could be extra training, extra fitness work etc. Doesn’t mean Ricardo has done anything wrong, could just be that JJ’s extra work shone. Don’t think people need to look too deep into it. He’s clearly a manager who wants everyone to bust a gut and you need to be on board with that.
  21. Have to say even as a staunch Pearson supporter, there was no grand tactical plan IMO. He seemed to be far more aligned with what Cooper is doing (currently), players with the right mentality, hard work, team spirit etc. He was pigheaded in his use of Mahrez, Vardy, Albrighton at times. We never got battered in scoreline but there were plenty of games like today. What we don’t have is the incredible scouting setup and squad building Walsh created around him.
  22. We get more pathetic with every year that passes.
  23. It’s all made up, simple as that.
  24. Because I’m Jon Rudkin, keep up.
  25. Surprised ❌ never made it
