  1. Last time it was our first season back after a long stint out and dropping down the leagues. This time, people have got the mentality of "back where we belong" (not the case), rather than the buzz of promotion and being in the premier league. Then of course we lost our manager, and one of our best players. Then we get someone else in totally different with a poor short term transfer stratergy. This season isn't comparable to that season in any way shape or form. To stand a chance the crowd need to get behind the team and get a buzz back into the stadium. The negativity and the expectations mean it just won't happen though, or not until it's too late.
  2. I've already said I'm mixing up my arguments, people used to say he was a Director, when he isn't.
  3. I'm sure you're right, I think I'm mixing up my arguments to be honest
  4. The club used to list the board on the website and he was never listed. Don't know if it's changed, not looked for a good while to be fair.
  5. The club and the people there are capable of turning things around if they want to put in the effort. Look at last season, good manager choice, some decent recruitment and we saw results. We've had the same a few times, see Rodgers when he first came in. My biggest issue is the lack of consistency in direction and planning (that covers a lot, from managers to overarching transfer strategy) and allowing too much power to managers. This is a common theme now and we end up paying the price over and over again. How hard is it to have scouts who are constantly monitoring managers around Europe? Monitoring successful transfer strategies and looking to mirror what's done well. We were at our best when Walsh came in and was an innovator in his field at the time. Pearson allowed people like Rennie to innovate and do things differently and we reaped the rewards. We just seem stagnant. Someone, somewhere in the club needs to start making proactive decisions to restart all the behind the scenes stuff. It's absolutely imperative to have that all spot on. If those there can't do it, or are against change then they need to be gone.
  6. Several flaws in your argument. "It is amusing just how long it takes for us to announce these things" "but he's evidently not available for Palace" If he's not available for Palace then he's not signed, and thus we couldn't announce it. And if he didn't sign until after 12pm yesterday, there is literally ZERO need to rush an announcement, other than to appease the brain deads. "Reported it was agreed before last weekend." Agreed isn't signed, agreed with the club isn't signed. Why do people act like players are robots and don't have lives and family that also need sorting out. "Cue the usual LCFC Defence League to turn up and make excuses" Cue the usual whinge bags who want to pick fault in absolutely everything without zero logical thinking.
  7. Using figures that I'd pulled out of my arse, because I'm not privvy to the financial information of the football club, I can confirm we'll be £17.78 over PSR for that period.
  8. Anyone thinking it means that needs their heads looking at. We need to keep level until all those horrendous years are off the books in terms of PSR. We basically start all over again now don't we.
  9. Except we need to be notified within 14 days of submitting accounts. It's 14 days, if they don't say today they can't trump up a charge down the line.
  10. You hope us being compliant with the rules, having said we think we'll be compliant for months (through Percy), serves as a kick up the arse. Sounds like my Mrs Me "I've done nothing wrong" Her "So buck your bloody ideas up" **Note to the Mrs if she reads this, it's a joke.
  11. He would just increase our overall spend. Wouldn’t make a difference. You can ignore his numbers anyway as it’s a guess, might be right, might be wrong.
  12. Convenient. So the second coming of Christ is injury prone. Answers a few questions.
  13. So why did I suffer from a millions requests to play him under Maresca? He was back playing in November and didn’t get a look in all season
  14. Cole Palmer was behind some incredibly talented players winning most trophies around. Not really comparable to our bunch, plus. It's not like it's one manager not thinking he's ready. It's been what, 3 / 4 / 5 managers now?
  15. Hard to look away from a car crash.
  16. I still support the club, but I very very rarely go to games unless it’s a freebie. And I’m barely on here like I used to be, last 48 hours aside.
  17. It's really easy... just let it go, don't go to any games. I feel like a weight has been lifted since I did it. Always said i'd retire if we won the FA Cup after winning the league. Seen it, done it, so long.
  18. It's so nice to scroll and thread and see a post which makes you think, "Thank Christ, I don't have to write that now and get called a club stooge or something else".
  19. Nothing, except out pay the player, out pay the agent and out bung the parents of all young talent. We just need to spend more than one of the richest clubs on the planet. Easy.
  20. He doesn't even say anything of note, other than we are confident of passing it. Which he said ages ago anyway.
  21. The "financial experts" don't have 1/3 of the last three years finances.
  22. The amount people read into nothing articles is astonishing.
  23. This place is a good giggle... "We're so financially incompetent to not pass PSR" 2 seconds later... "Why aren't we signing anyone"
  24. Amazing really when it's peddled by credible journalists as well, featuring as a key part of their "hypocrites" articles. And yet, Babylon can do a search in 5 minutes and find out we didn't vote for either, in between his day job and posting on here
