  1. As someone who as experience of collective ownership models I wouldn’t say it was romantic. It’s often quite boring and complicated but with good structure and systems it can work really well. using cliches like too many cooks to shut down a conversation which could further new ideas is about as cool as suggesting we need another sugar daddy. I would encourage people to do their own research because it’s always interesting to think speculatively about new ways of organising there are many things in the world that used to work that no longer work and many things that didn’t used to work but are amazing now. thinking about what community ownership would look like for LCFC shouldn’t be off the table just because it hasn’t worked for other teams because they are different teams.
  2. Thanks for your insights. Would still prefer it to king power mk 2. Plus there are many other alternative ways of modelling things like this. The main problem is how much money people can extract from the club given. If you are telling me you think that a disorganised group of democratically elected fans would do a worse job than this lot or the next lot then I’m not sure you can prove that. it’s fine though.
  3. Yet it would still be my preference. Good job I’m not the millionaire owner or I would put the club in “real trouble”
  4. No idea who is buying us, but I would prefer public/fan/community ownership model rather than being the vanity project of someone who sells something that nobody needs or something that is destroying the planet. Fed up of weirdos with more money than sense destroying the game and clubs like our own. The premier league and English football in general is worse off as a result of their “generous” contribution.
  5. Is it not possible he just put it on there as a joke, knowing someone would have spotted it, to get a reaction? They almost certainly know it exists and read it for fun, but I imagine professional footballers might have a different view of fan forums than users of them do. A fun idea though. I like the idea that this thread would be used as a direct line to the players. Hi lads please if you see this you show us a signal by making a “keyboard” gesture when you score in the next game? Oh wait…
  6. Where was the insight?
  7. So if it happened while he was the manager at “Peterborough Sport” (not to be confused with lucozade sport) then it would have been during Cifuentes’s time as their managerial tenures line up. seems like he’s talking about the club in general being soulless. Not necessarily the architecture of sea grave alone. Although it sure as shit isn’t helping
  8. Firstly, I’d like to think that a bloke like Lee Carsley would have very little need for any more money but you are probably making a good point. Secondly, please never remind me patson daka existed or made any money from us ever again. That was a jump scare I should have anticipated on a LCFC forum, but somehow it was still shocking
  9. God I hadn’t thought about how cushty a job like that must be. Surely one of the lowest pressure/decently paid/secure/prestigious jobs in English management? Can’t believe he’s not interested in dropping down to having a crack at a league 1 relegation scrap with a gang of complete no hopers.
  10. Yes I agree with you but the problem is the club is expensive for what it is and has financial problems and high running costs. Or maybe it doesn’t?
  11. We are going to have to bank on the fact that a new owner will be someone who is mental and has more money than sense. Which is probably a reasonable percentage of people who are thinking of buying any football team. We are also going to have to rely on top dropping the price…
  12. If you watch him carefully he is just standing on the sideline laser focused on the sexy sideways passing, because he gets a sick satisfaction out of it. He’s not noticed anything else on the pitch and passes out when the other team have the ball so he didn’t even know we were losing on sat
  13. I know this has been discussed a million times, but it is still remarkable to me that we’ve been so far off achieving a new manager bounce in living memory that I think we need some kind of national inquiry it’s probably something to do with the fact we keep picking shit managers
  14. I have been inspired by Phil to stay unaffected and invested because it made me laugh and I think he looks coolest in that pic deep down im miserable Phil tho
  15. If it is a club policy to play 4-2-3-1 then that is bizarre and insane. I do find it very hard to believe a club would have a policy about sticking to one formation. I guess stranger things have happened but it’s too far fetched for me. To a layman like me it would make a lot of sense to change the shape when it’s clearly not bringing much joy. Like that’s the obvious thing to do. When it’s the obvious thing to do it’s also highly likely they’ve thought about changing it many times. And decided to persevere. For all we know the players prefer it as well as the manager. Doesn’t look like anyone is particularly comfortable though. I still think the problems are vibes based and until the atmosphere at the club from top to bottom changes we are going to struggle to get any formation working.
  16. I think that’s the only correct answer. God how much I’d love to see Lloyd back on the wing
  17. Who would be in a combined XI out of this team and the one that lined up against Oxford?
  18. Yeah thought that might be the outcome. It really feels like we are playing a possession based system that it would only be sensible to play if we had a team that were gelled and working well together. Which we have been so far away from being for years. It’s really difficult to watch. The formation change wouldn’t make a huge amount of difference but the philosophy is killing us rn. As was prophesied over and over
  19. Was always going to be hard for us to play more than one striker up front when we don’t have anyone to play. Now we’ve got Riis it will be interesting to see if he experiments with a 2. Evidence from yesterday would suggest Russ isn’t going to. How are other more successful league 1 teams lining up/championship teams lining up?
  20. I really dislike Burnley so this is sad for me
  21. We have 41 games left which is obviously a lot of games, but it takes some imagination And more optimism than I have left to envision us coming back with this system and set up. Roll the dice. Give it to someone mental like Fuchs and gamble his legacy to make it more interesting.
  22. Last time I had a season ticket was the Craig Levine era. I go to the odd game where I can but have been pretty disenfranchised in recent years. Weirdly (or maybe not weird) the two times I’ve started to find myself caring the most and following or posting on this forum (for therapy) have come with both our relegations to league 1. The first time was traumatic, but one is ****ing bizarre but even more devastating. I don’t really know what to do or say. Feel very out of control but it does help to read and talk about things online sometimes. Overflowing with anger because of this very disappointing club is not going to do your mental health any good. Top and rudkin will be gone soon and so will all of these players and managers. I think we’ll bounce back from this but it looks like it’s going to take years and it can definitely get worse before it gets better.
  23. Anyway I’ll stop posting now I know this is not what people need to or want to talk about now. It’s a time for just being pissed off and venting and waiting for top to do one
  24. Well yeah I think your first and second points are true. I think I’m complaining. About the same thing. When I’m thinking about negativity I’m thinking about a lack of passion. Which I’ve seen from fans and players for years. I think your second point about tennis is weird cos it’s completely different on too many different levels. Tennis fans are generally too nice (happy clappers) and just support anyone who is good or an underdog. No fans are berating the Williams sisters if they miss a shot Maybe you are right about the loser mentality. Although it’s a bit of a simplistic way to describe it. I grew up in a school in Leicester full of Man Utd and Liverpool fans who only supported them because they were successful. Which set me up to support a local team whether they won or not. I imagine most Leicester fans had a similar experience and that’s why they aren’t going “feral” like people seem to want. its just always stood out to me there have been very large and vocal sections of the fan base who start off positive (well done!) but turn very negative very quickly quickly and it seems to make it harder to ever compete once we go a few goals down. This has been the case for years ever since we won the Prem really. I think it was part (not the whole) of the problem when we got relegated with Brendan. Full clarity I still think this reaction and “negativity” is valid and warranted. Im still open to hearing about football related examples of ex players or managers talking about these kind of conditions and their impact on fans as my original post asked for. But as nobody is answering that part I’ll do some independent research and keep it to myself 😂 I’m just a shit Leicester fan asking questions. I’m not a sports psychologist or an expert on football.
