TV picks for that weekend have also been made so yes, it stays (subject to Sky moving it for no reason 3 days before!).
-
Middlesbrough are also in the cup that midweek. So Sky will have to pick Plymouth vs Sunderland instead for a night game!

Every meeting UFS have with the club we ask about safe standing updates. It's frustrating to not see much movement on it. The key thing is that the club linked it with the expansion and are reluctant to talk about doing it outside of that. Some of the reasons they keep mentioning are: 1. Cost. Apparently around £500K to do around 3,000, which would include some in the away end as at least 10% of all safe standing places have to be in the away end. We have mentioned that clappers cost x amount a season and they don't think twice about them. No clappers for one season almost pays for safe standing. 2. Location. One because they have the expansion in mind, they are worried about paying for it now then doing it again/moving it with the expansion. However, they know what the expansion looks like so I am sure they could plan it strategically. Another reason is that they know multiple people in different areas want it (e.g. section/Kop, L1 etc.). Again, they need to scope an area. If people want it, they will be there. Do some marketing, send out some surveys, gather findings. They are just dragging their heels on it. Constantly talking about it being linked with the expansion and it costing a lot one off. As a group we keep pushing as it is a main objective of the group and has been pushed for probably over 10 years (before it was even legalised in UK stadia). So to see other clubs implement while we stand still is annoying. As SemperEadem mentions above, we were shown survey results from 2019 around safe standing (yes it took the club that long to share them!). They showed an overwhelming demand and support for safe standing and accounted for a fairly large representation who took part in the survey from all stands/areas (nearly 8,000 people took part) . Unfortunately, we were told not to share these figures/results publicly so I am trying to keep with that.

We were like that a little bit but much better now. Maybe it's clicked that we sell out every game.
-
Only other options are Saturday 12:30 or Sunday 12:00 (don't think the latter is often used). Can't be Monday as there is a PL match. I would imagine they stick Birmingham vs Ipswich on the box too which would make that Saturday 12:30 as Ipswich play in the cup midweek before. Leicester vs Leeds is the perfect Friday night match.
-
I reckon we will get the announcement this afternoon or tomorrow latest. Leicester vs Leeds is nailed on Friday night. Be surprised if not.

I've seen loads of clubs not hesitate to drop to general sale. Can't confirm it's every club but a fair amount.
-
The other argument of course, if someone wants to get a ticket (and is a troublemaker), they will get a ticket. The people being punished by no general sale are those that actually deserve to get some tickets for matches but can't unless they fork out £40 or whatever for a membership.
-
I don't think that argument stands though. Membership or not, if you buy a ticket you need to at least have an account. The only difference is that one is classed as a member and has privileges, the other doesn't. They have the same details on the system.
-
To be fair, there are still plenty of tickets in the rest of the stadium. However, the lack of general sale makes it very frustrating. What is the difference between a STH buying a ticket for A.N. Other and A.N. Other buying a ticket themselves in general sale? The same client data is being recorded.

3 if you count the cup QF. The one we really had to win!
-
Fingers crossed, he would be good for us long term.
-
I just think he will be either a permanent Man City player or play for one of the bigger clubs. Not sure if Man City would sell him next year, I think they will want to bed him in and keep. It all depends what Man City want rather than the player himself.
-
I mean he did make good music
-
Can't see Doyle staying here. Either Man City start using him or he goes to a PL team (even if we do go up).
-
Might be worth dropping an email to the club around that.
-
Because of course they didn't know the dates of all competitions before the season started and so couldn't give accurate dates when they would release TV games... Stuff like this just baffles me. Either set the TV announcement dates to follow cup scheduling or make the announcements but avoid potential cup scheduling issues later (e.g. Blackburn vs Leicester should not have been a Friday game for starters).

Southampton Away Friday 15th September 20:00
KrefelderFox666 replied to KrefelderFox666's topic in Ticket News and Travel
A handful of UFS met with the club yesterday to raise a few points and this was one of them we pushed on again. We made the point of Southampton not going to general sale, or at least booking history, considering there were around 500 tickets unsold. It was clear they are worried about trouble but we countered with the fact that troublemakers will get in no matter what and even booking history/general sale requires people to have an account with their details recorded. The club are taking this away to the ticketing department. The next few weeks will tell whether they listened or not. Blackburn was mentioned as another example where we could ask for even more tickets and then open sales further. Overall, it was disappointing to see Southampton stay at member sales only. -
