We’ve seen this before under Rogers where Alvez looked close to making a proper senior debut. Sadly the injury halted his progress. Than came relegation and cooper. I’m really encouraged by Ruud taking a shine to Alvez. He sees the potential and now it’s all about timing. I think we will see Alvez in a cup game soon. Hope he takes that opportunity to really shine and impress our new manager. One thing we know is RVN loves to develop promising young talent.

Good performance and created chances but didn’t finish them. That’s as simple as I can put it. Opportunity lost to beat a very poor form man city. Hard to batter Vards too much as I can see how vexxed he was at missing that.

Dare I say and it may be early days but I see some of Mahrez in him. The way he just naturally caresses that ball. He’s a natural. Deserves much better players around him to thrive. I like him a lot!

Saw the title and had to say everyone take a mental break please! It’s Xmas eve. Take your mind off our teams struggles for a few days. Play with your kids if you have any or your neighbours. Watch some classic comedy or some movies but anything but football. No one style of play can dominate forever. Like all things in life it has to evolve and adapt to survive. The dynamics of football are ever changing. Also trying to play pep ball is incredibly difficult if you don’t have quality players playing at their best. Southampton was proving this every week.
