I think it all boils down to whether Marti rates him or not. Doubt we'll be signing anyone that hasn't been approved by the manager. If he's good enough for Marti, he'll do for me. I realise that I'm pinning a lot on this manager but I really do rate him. Hope it doesn't come back to bite me on the arse.

A friend of mine was a Tigers fan and he got me a ticket to some match I can't remember for the life of me. I spent the first half bored and then Lennon and possibly Savage brought the League Cup out at half time to a luke warm round of applause from the Tigers supporters. I was going mad and cheering my head off. Then I went for a burger and Lennon and possibly Savage were stood there also tucking into their burgers. Stood and spoke to them for a while and I remember Lennon in particular was a really sound guy.

For some reason I've got Steffen Freund in my mind. Couldn't stand him when he was at Spurs and I was really annoyed when we signed the rat faced tit but I seem to recall he actually did pretty well for us. Maddison is the other one. Very good player but never warmed to him and I wasn't bothered in the slightest when we sold him, unlike Barnes. That one hurt.

People were panicking coz Marti made Coady captain for a pre-season friendly and less than a week later, he's off. I keep saying Marti won't suffer wank players like Cooper and RvN did. They either shape up or shit off. One down, plenty more to go - but an excellent start.

I'm getting Enzo vibes but in turbo mode. I really do think we'll do well under Marti. If players aren't performing, he won't play them and he won't put up with substandard performances. I wasn't excited at all about last season as soon as Cooper was appointed, I hoped for an upturn under RvN but then we all witnessed the car crash unfolding. I am looking forward to a season in the Champo much more than another season of struggle in the PL and, selfishly, I'm really pleased that so many games are on TV. A lapsed season ticket holder of decades, I don't even think about getting a ticket for a home game now (I hope that changes this season) but I am going to Charlton away and looking forward to that. I want to see my team doing well again without validating what Top, Rudkin and the rest have done to my club.

I think it'll be 4 0. As terrible as this is for the Wednesday supporters, a hard loss on the opening day just fuels the outrage even more. I suspect a good chunk of their fans would take a heavy defeat to add fuel to the anti Chansiri fire and if we're getting a points deduction, goal difference could play a big part in our season. Really hope Wednesday get out of this disaster but I want a decent win for us on the opening weekend.

I thought it was one out, one in. So we should have signed another eight players by now.

I think people are thinking that because Cooper and RVN played the same dross week in, week out, Marti is going to do it as well. But I don't think he will. The analysis videos and what we've seen in pre season show that he likes fast attacking play with quick pressing and we have several players in the squad that don't fit this style and cannot play this way. I believe (and hope) that Marti will already know the players that aren't going to fit into his system and won't play them. Give the likes of Vestergaard and Soumare a few months of not getting in the squad and see what happens. They won't want to be spending their time just training so will want a move. We might not see much movement now but January could well be the month where we see a lot of movement when players realise they have no future here.
