  1. 4 out of 5 in so far. If Sheff Utd win tomorrow night, it would be £1,424 returned from a £10 total stake. If not, I am guaranteed £129 for 4 trebles. I've been in this exact situation before and the team to play last has let me down! Probably look to lay-off Sheffield on the exchanges a little, just to bump-up the payout if they don't win, but ensure that the profit is over £1,000 if they do. Unless anyone has any better suggestions..
  2. If Ward was just a below average keeper, we would have stayed up that year!
  3. Too many closers getting paid millions for having a 100mph fast ball and not much else
  4. Purdy doing his best to not make it interesting anymore
  5. Will this be the best Washington team since the days of Joe Theismann?
  6. And early signs we'll be getting the same outcome..
  7. From a newly-signed and what must have been a very rusty Brandon McManus
  8. Arsenal?
  9. What an ending last night, Guardians pulling it out of the fire! 5-3 down in the bottom of the 9th with 2 outs, Yankees celebrating with the series looking all but over. Clutch 2-run blast to tie it up, then another in the 10th to walk it off. I'm sure @KingsX is delighted, @Jordan not so much. Now win these next 2 home games please Guards, that'd make it mighty interesting for the neutrals..
  10. Ah I see. The Last October of the Ents! Tolkien missed a trick there..
  11. ..but could be resurrected now that they have traded for Davante Adams!
  12. *march?
  13. Mets tie it up at 1-1. You intentionally walk the opposition's most dangerous player (Lindor in this case) to load the bases, and the next guy up hits a grand slam. Love it when that happens!
  14. The Rodgers/Jets experiment looks all but doomed..
  15. Looked to me like his leg was impacted whilst dangling in the air rather than set on the ground. Unusual one
  16. Not my team, but don't mind the Mets. Always liked Mike Piazza especially in his battles with Roger Clemens who I never liked, even though he pitched for the Blue Jays at one point. The Mets '86 WS against the Red Sox who were one-out from breaking THE curse is the stuff of legend. And I love the film 'Frequency' and its '69 Mets back-drop. If you're not from the U.S. you're allowed to have soft-spots for other teams 🙂
  17. How do you tag someone on this forum?
  18. Watching the Tigers v Guardians ALDS decider. Just when Skubal was looking imperious v Guardians, gives up a grand slam to Lane Thomas. On the previous pitch he hit the batter with bases loaded to give up his first run in over 28 innings. That grand slam will live long in the memory of Cleveland fans.
  19. Mets into the NLCS. There's only 1 team from New York that's winning the World Series, and it ain't the Yankees! 😄
  20. Yes indeed. Signal fading in and out all the time. It was a result getting about 2 mins of continuous commentary. I particularly remember following Tony Eason and the Patriots on the radio in the '85 season when they won an unprecedented 3 road play-off games, only to be wiped out in the Superbowl by Mike Ditka's ferocious Bears
  21. If you've ever watched The X-Files, you'll know why the Bills never have and never will win the Superbowl! 😄
  22. I think the Raiders picked up a fair few UK fans at the time. I remember Marcus Allen being the main man. They've probably lost a few over the years considering, like you said, how crap they have been since!
  23. Can't believe the Bengals have just blown it with the holder dropping the ball on that OT field goal attempt
  24. Loved the idea that the Packers were a publicly owned non-profit corporation. They were terrible in the late 80s (had been since they won the first 2 Superbowls in '66 and '67) so I liked the underdog vibe. Was in Wisconsin for a wedding in the early 90s, went to Green Bay for the day on a match day even though we didn't have any tickets, but the atmosphere outside the stadium pre-match was amazing. The Holmgren-Favre years were just about to begin and I haven't looked back since!
  25. Mets doing it late again. After being shut out in 7, 5 runs in the 8th at the Phillies to lead 5-1.
